Many people have grown accustomed to talking to their smart devices, asking them to read a text, play a song or set an alarm. But someone else might be secretly talking to them, too. Over the last two years, researchers in China and the United States have begun demonstrating that they can send hidden commands that are undetectable to the human ear to Apples Siri, Amazons Alexa and Googles Assistant. Inside university labs, the researchers have been able to secretly activate the artificial intelligence systems on smartphones and smart speakers, making them dial phone numbers or open websites. In the wrong hands, the technology could be used to unlock doors, wire money or buy stuff online simply with music playing over the radio.

Orwell overestimated human nature. People will voluntarily put telescreens in their homes.

This is why I will not have any banking apps on my phone - too easily accessible by the bad guys.
...and no Siri/Alexa in my home, either.

I refuse to grant any financial access or locks/identity info to a Stalinist-”Orwellian”-globalist device.

Aliens will invade during the night and broadcast secret signals to our Alexas, Cortanas and Siris telling the digital women to kidnap us and take us back to the Mother Ship.

You won’t have to. Alexa or Siri will do it for you. Whether you want them to or not.

One of my higher up types and her husband are addicted to Alexa from someone who has been there. Alexa this or Alexa that.
No way will that or Siri be allowed. I tolerate a droid but it’s kind of a necessary evil.

Anyone who thinks that putting a gadget that listens to everything that goes on in the area clearly hasn’t thought through the implications.

"Heck the government we that had party lines until the 70s had to worry about the old lady down the street listening."LOL! On our party line, we used to make up all sorts of weird gossip about the neighbors when we knew the old neighbor lady was listening.

Several years ago Xfinity “gave” me a new Box/DVR, with an oral command remote. I like the Box/DVR, but I left the oral remote in its package, and I buried that muthah in the bottom of the TV stand. I don’t want ANYTHING besides my bride listening to me.
