Yeti’s excuse never made any sense. If they’re “discontinuing outdated discounts” why won’t there be a new discount for NRA members? Or do they just NOT want to give a discount to NRA members anymore? Sounds like it.

For the information of all, I bought a Coleman 200 quart top of the line cooler to go down the Yukon River with me for a week. After one WEEK it still had ice in it and was preserving food.
It cost approximately half what a similar sized Yeti would have cost me. Fully loaded, it takes 4 men to carry it.
I still have it and am looking forward to using it again in a few weeks when I start out at Circle headed for Tanana. Would go further but not enough time due to business. All the way next year.
I didn’t buy their vastly overpriced stuff before this, and I’ll continue doing just that going forward. But it’s pretty stupid to piss off a large segment of your core customer base.

I am glad this happened. I just bought an overpriced Yeti travel mug - the last I will ever buy. Now I have names of American made ones which are not SJW owned.

I took my Yeti travel mug out behind the shop today, set it up against a backstop and then commenced to pepper it with about 50-60 rounds of .22 LR. Mailed the pic to Yeti with some kind words about buying a nice, new cooler from RTIC in Houston.
FWIW, IF someone needs that kind of cooler, RTIC is just as good if not better, a whole lot less expensive, and they have no bone to pick with the shooting sports. Matter of fact, they’re just a bunch of good old boys themselves.
I met a marketing guy from Yeti when I worked in Austin in radio. They were looking for “marketing ideas” is “partnering with radio. The dude was a complete Austin hippie type and blathered about how they are looking for “holistic” and “organic” ways to market. They wanted their product to not be gratuitously product placed. The dude was a weirdo and we were confused how he thought we as a radio station could help.
This NRA thing does not surprise me one bit. Yeti is all about feeling and their organic rep. Pretentiousness at it’s worst.
They should rename themselves to “Poop of Yeti and Poop on You”.
