Has anyone used the e-file services found on line and are they all encompassing when itemizing deductions? Do they allow a direct deposit refund to your account without charging a fee thru a third party?
I’ve used TaxAct for the last 4 to 5 years.
But my taxes are pretty simple.
I mail them in, instead of doing electronic reporting.
is the free one, sendmeyourSSN.com?
I don’t see a problem./s
Used them and yes their prompts ask for all pertinent info and yes, direct deposit is an option. No issues with mine or any family members Ive used it for.
I’ve used this site for several years. Never had a problem. https://www.freetaxusa.com
I used https://www.freetaxusa.com last year and it was free and they did my federal and state and I got the refund fast via wire to my bank account.
I only use the ones linked directly off the official state & fed & local tax websites.
I have been using FreeTaxUSA for the last several years. For an extra $20 I get state filing and audit protection.
I use “ www. freetaxes .ru “
Actually no, don’t click that link!
I have used TaxAct for years with no problem. I don’t do direct deposit though. And I send in a paper form.

Forget it.
Oops, I just self-identified as an Enemy of the Deep State.
I use Tax Slayer. It is free for Active Duty Military but does cost some money (~$20-30) to file for non-military. You don’t have to pay up front either. You can have the amount deducted from your refund, which works out for me.
I have been using 1040now.net for the last five years with no problems.

If someone offers you a valuable online service 'free' (especially one that collects personal information).... then YOU are the actual product being sold.
Been using free tax usa since 2005 always satisfied wiht their service. You can even find coupons online for a small discount with them.
I’ve been using TurboTax for 12 years and have never had a problem - and we’ve got a bit of a complicated return.
They have a free offering for 1040EZ/1040A, I recommend them highly.
I use TaxAct. I itemize and have rental property.
They cover everything. You can get a refund any way you want.
They have my taxes going back 7 years. They will even file your extension if need be at internet speed.
I usually recommend TurboTax or TaxAct (I use TurboTax)...free for “simple” returns (1040a or 1040ez) and “low-income” (<$60K). The IRS also has a new “free-file” option this year:

worth every penny :)
I have used Turbo Tax for the last 3 years. Cost about 40 dollars.
I found it easy, and it was filed on line, which is nice since I live in the Philippines and worried the form would be lost in the mail.
However, I am retired and single, so that might not be true if you have a more complicated filing to do.
however, the IRS site had a free simple program for folks who had uncomplicated tax filing to do.
