Fraternities at the University of California, Los Angeles are banned indefinitely from serving alcohol at in-house parties and events days after a former president was arrested on sexual assault allegations. The UCLA Interfraternity Council announced the booze-free rule on Wednesday citing safety concerns. 'Safety will always be the main priority when evaluating the IFC community and we are working towards enacting measures to promote security and prioritize safety,' a statement from the council read.

My son lives in an unaffiliated house next to a “silent” (no letters) fraternity house. He can do anything he wants and the university is powerless to do anything because they are not a “group” on campus. If the fraternity gets caught having a “silent” house to have parties, they can get punished.

Well if alcohol is BANNED then I’m sure the problem is well on its way to being solved...

I wonder if someone told Elizabeth Dole back when she wanted states to raise the drinking age to 21 to combat teenage drunken driving that that would not necessarily foster responsible drinking habits among young people. This seems to be a good example of that idea.

Pretty typical of everything today. However, only a small percentage of students should be drinking at all since 21 is the age to drink.
