During the Golden Globes, while presenting for best director, Portman called out the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for selecting “all male” nominees in that category.

So we need affirmative action for women directors?

I read that about 85-90% of directors in Hollywood are men.

They can have a navel gazing session about why so few women move into that end of the movie business. But, given those numbers, it’s not shocking that all the nominees would be men.
