>>“The Making of the Atomic Bomb” by Richard Rhodes is a tremendous book.

I found the free audio book at archive.org. Yes, it is a fantastic book about the history of The Bomb. I highly recommend it.

Interesting!

Was your Dad at Los Alamos, Oak Ridge, or Hanford?

I’ve had the softcover for many years. Great book. Thanks for the link to the audio version.

It’s in 24 parts, each about 1.5 hours in length. Originally on cassette tape. :)

I hope your dad scoffed at the idea. “Pure fiction.”

And then he had the guy arrested! Ha Ha.

To be honest, I have no idea what my dad said or did.

But in the midst of war, I’m sure he admitted nothing. Back then, and especially in wartime, security really did matter to people, and penalties were severe. But making guesses on the basis of pulp magazine contents wasn’t worthy of arrest.

As FReeper Reily pointed out, this guy wasn’t the only one who saw the linkage. The Japs did too. Perhaps censorship isn’t always the best idea.
