I was just listening to conservative talk radio host Hugh Hewitt. He sounded pretty confident that Roy Moore is going to lose. He said that there are absolutely no rot Moore signs in Alabama and that the Democrats are super energized. He said this is going to cost president Trump a lot of political capital. Is there anyone in Alabama that can say how things actually are there?
I’m in AZ. I contributed to the Moore campaign from all the way out here; this is a national race.
My thought is this: if you’re in the city in AL, or around a university — no, you won’t see Moore signs. Other than that, AL is Trump country. By extension, it is Moore country. Trump gets crowds, Moore gets crowds; the other cat gets none. All the way out here in AZ, I sense that Moore has this.
Wishful thinking is no substitute for thoughtful political analysis...
Seems to me that moore will win. At 70 years old, he’s a placeholder for two terms at best.
I wasn’t as quick as you. About four years ago for me. The clincher was when be became a never-Trumper. I turned him off in the Spring of 2016.
I tuned him in again for a few weeks after the election just to hear him have to eat crow.
Besides listening to him, your second mistake is calling this rectum a conservative.

Agreed. A story shared here yesterday showed that the polls were showing a breaking off of Doug Jones and back to Roy Moore trend in terms of voter support. Likely, many are no longer believing the allegations against Moore and that the credibility of those allegations received a very poor optic regarding the yearbook signature controversy on Friday.
Hugh Hewitt is as conservative as David Brooks.
Also, on 5Dimes sportsbook, Moore is at 1/5 odds-on huge favorite (i.e., the other cat is a 5-to-1 longshot). I am talking about people who are putting REAL money where their real mouth is. So sleep well, friends.
I don't believe it. The absence of Moore yard signs mean little, imho. He's been elected and re-elected time and again. Last minute, 40 year-old, suspect, dirty tricks won't fool the common sense of the voters.
I believe Moore will win but I do not think the senate will seat him. They will reach into their bag of tricks and pull out some procedure to prevent him from serving.

Hewitt is exactly that, a true phony in every sense of that word. He also is a liar, often pretending to be “neutral” when it is clear he is not neutral at all. I used to catch his radio show sometimes when I lived in Los Angeles. He is first and foremost a shill for establishment Republicans.
That Ossoff guy outspent Handel 6 to 1 in Georgia...and Handel won “handily.”

Conservatives tend to be silent majorities on most issues, not noisy, obnoxious liberals who clamor to be heard. I wouldn’t be surprised in there aren’t as many Moore signs out - most conservatives know how vicious and violent the left can be and just opt for all the peace they can find. They’ll still vote Moore in the voting booth.

If Senate refuses to seat Moore, I will personally fly from AZ to DC and picket the Capitol until they do. So will half the population of Alabama.
