BERLIN (AP) German police say the pilot of a passenger jet destined for Zurich made an unscheduled stop at Stuttgart airport because a Swiss passenger become aggressive after being denied champagne.
Reutlingen police say crew members were unable to calm the 44-year-old business class passenger, who was angered by their refusal to serve her more sparkling wine on the flight from Moscow late Saturday.
Police said in a statement Sunday that the woman, who wasn't named, was escorted off the Airbus A320 and ordered to pay a security of 5,000 euros ($5,871).
They said the 43 passengers on board were never in danger, but the total cost involved in the unplanned stopover likely amounted to several tens of thousands of euros for the airline.

I once ordered a pizza before I took a Halidol and half a bottle of red wine. It took an hour for the pizza driver to arrive. Let's just say I will not be ordering pizza again from that place. I also made note to self........Be careful what you mix.
Ever think of making pizza at home? It’s easy and I’ll gladly PM you our dough recipe.
Your point is a valid one, however.
>>Ambien, Halidol, Lunesta, and Halcion, do not mix well with booze. <<
For some people, which appears to include the lady in this article, booze doesn’t mix well with booze.
Or altitude. The cabin is pressurized to 9,000 feet. Two glasses of wine at 9,000 feet is like six glasses on sea level terra firma.
yes. When they say “don’t combine this drug with alcohol”, sometimes they’re saying it because there’s a 0.01% chance of something bad happening, and sometimes it’s because you’ll definitely go temporarily insane if you do.
Damn! I live at 9494’. No wonder I was such a cheap drunk.
Okay, making an unscheduled stop in Stuttgart vs. continuing on to Zurich was stupid. There’s only 135 driving miles between them (so figure maybe 120 air miles - probably fewer). It would have been less than 20 minutes difference in the air, versus the several-hour hassle of what they did here.
I was flying Coach once with a passenger who demanded to be upgraded to First, saying he always flew First and how dare they put him in Coach. This went on and on and the flight attendants got really annoyed. Then he started to demand free drinks because he always flew First and the booze is free in First. I thought they would divert us because of him and it was a relief to finally land.
She must have been liquored up for them to cut her off.
I am not a yuge drinker, but on an AA flight from Chicago to Frankfurt I did get quite plowed once.
We were delayed because of icing issues. The FA kept bringing sparkling wine around, must have had 4 glasses. Then a Gin and Tonic before dinner. With dinner I had 3 glasses of wine. Before we got to Nova Scotia my seat was flat and I was out! They had to wake me up for landing.
I guess the difference is I have always been a quiet drunk.

Is that because THEY will not sell you one?.....................
At the reduced cabin pressure that is used in aircraft, alcohol’s effects are both faster and more intense!..................
Shame has me making that decision for them. It may have become a directive among all pizza joints in the county for all I know? Why poke the bear?
WTH does that mean?
“Haloperidol is used in the treatment of schizophrenia, tics in Tourette syndrome, mania in bipolar disorder, nausea and vomiting, delirium, agitation, acute psychosis, and hallucinations in alcohol withdrawal”
?????
It works well on anxiety. Particularly after traumatic events.
The article doesn't say which airline it was.
Perhaps they wanted to deal with German police vs. Swiss police?
Hell
Where the food is British
The cars are French
The police are German
The lovers are Swiss
And the whole thing is run by Italians
