I think the Texans were perceived (wrongly) as being above all the national anthem BS. I’m kinda glad to see this development. Yet another NFL domino falls.
To be clear. A “convict” has been caught and convicted. “Thug” might have been more appropriate, as in “The Thugs are running the neighborhood”.
God help him had he told the players to mind their cotton pickin’ business.
Stank ass mudshark hooker.
That might be what makes it hard to get past unfortunately. Of he’s going to hide behind, “it’s a figure of speech”, it might’ve been nice to have gotten it right! But he didn’t and the difference is a lot more of a racial tripwire. At least he didn’t say, “we can’t have the slaves running the plantation!”
Complete insanity. You have a league whose players routinely call each other either the N-word or MFer, and more often than not, both, but take umbrage first, that the President besmirched their mothers (the old 7th grade tactic used on playgrounds to shame the unsuspecting) by saying, “Fire the SOBs,” and now take umbrage at the mangling of a saying that’s been around for almost 100 years (though they’d object just as much to the non-mangled saying) because they find their honor besmirched. This on top of objecting to being called a big boy or a gorilla which equally applies to the likes of JJ Watt and Vince Wilfork because they are massive human beings (6’5”/290 and 6’2”/325, respectively) and zip to do with skin color, but that didn’t prevent those terms from becoming verboten as now inmates has become.
I think what he meant to say was the “inmates running the asylum”, as in the ‘foxes running the hen house”.
McNair really botched his metaphores, and landed himself in heap big trouble.
Yup
At least Houstonians still have the Astros to root for.
Too bad McNair had to ruin it by apologizing.
What McNair needs to do is just forfeit the rest of his games and then his players can sit it out and no salary.
Call the police!! An inmate escaped the prison.
Lets see what happens when the season is over and its time to pay for 2018 season tickets. 2017 ticket money is in the bank. Next spring the owners will be forced to end this or take a financial bath.
Despite my liking the Texas teams, I hope it does happen to put an end to the NFL as it currently is. A couple of forfeits coupled with the end of Thursday night football mid season would pretty much dumpster the season as a whole.
Is it really? The left got what they wanted. They destroy yet another of society’s institutions - one that didn’t benefit them.
Inmates/asylum is the figure of speech. I have never heard anyone use inmates/prison.
Leave. Go. Get to steppin' We're tired of grievance-mongers, race-mongers and downright dumb people being paid millions to bellyache. Go. Plenty more players itching for your spot.
The social engineering was by the left. They took an institution that wasn’t in their favor and turned the nonleft against. Most Freepers don’t even see how thoroughly Alinky’ed they are.
I’m fortunately trying to sell my PSL’s to the Texans. I’ve been able to sell the tickets themselves this year, and didn’t even lose any money on the deal. I made a small amount, less than 100 bucks total, so consider it a wash.
Can you demonstrate an example? I have never heard an NFLer use that word publibly.
