Are we to go muslim?
Women need to understand that the signals they send are potent, and recognize their responsibility. Mothers used to teach this skill, but it’s been a while in some families.
Refusing to see that women dressing provocatively provokes men’s sexual urges is living in lala land.
Put em in Burkas! (HUGE sarc)
Maybe the good pastor doesn’t know that if he’s right - then fine.
Men LIKE being sexually assaulted this way. I’m eye-balling a co-worker right now. And no way am I calling and complaining to Human Resources.
No way.
According to the liberal paradigm of victimhood his argument should be solid.
In a world where personal responsibility matters, not so much.
>>Women need to understand that the signals they send are potent, and recognize their responsibility. Mothers used to teach this skill, but its been a while in some families.
They do still teach it. Unfortunately, they teach their 12 year old girl to wear a push-up bra and booty shorts. This is what passes for “empowerment” today.
Wow that’s the same defense idiot muzzies make!
Wholesome self control is the middle ground between dressing like a whore and being forced to live in a cloth prison.
The dirt in men’s hearts is not fixed by putting a woman in a burka. Conversely, a woman dressing provocatively doesn’t promote a healthy culture.
This is truth that modern culture cant handle. Modesty safeguards morality. When one goes, so does the other. Thats just the way it works.
Yes, it is truth. I was considering this just the other day.
If it is sexual harassment for men to *ask* about sex, this is also sexual harassment.
“women dress like men these days.”
Don’t know about that. Saw a woman in the grocery store parking lot yesterday. She was very fit and wearing some very thin and very tight yoga pants. They were crawling up certain areas so high I thought they must be rubbing her pancreas. I felt like I owed her dinner. Just saying.
Sounds rather Talibanish to me.
This is why Fundy Muslims demand women wear burkhas.
I guess it come down to just how provocative, no?
But as part of making such statements publically, perhaps the “Pastor” should also write about how his pronouncements are different from Islam.
This is the type of stuff, like Todd Akin back 4-5 years ago, that separates conservatives and their more libertarian allies and is used by the Left to smear us all.
There is a middle ground, and in this case it contains the answer.
Dressing provocatively has an effect. That is the whole point of dressing that way. Dressing provocatively in any way is not “assault”. Words have meaning, and calling a woman’s attire “assault” is a New Speak redefinition and misuse of a word that is needed.
On the other hand, there is a lot of value and virtue in dressing appropriately. A woman has a much better chance of being treated as a professional if she is dressed as a professional - not as a woman from the oldest profession. A woman has a much better chance of being thought of as an equal if she dresses in a manner that is flattering but appropriate and modest. When on a date, “appropriate” is different from in the work world, but it’s still different from the extremes of “provocative”.
Not helpful. A stones throw away from “she was asking for it”.

I don’t think he’s saying it’s okay to rape a woman who’s dressed sexy. He’s saying it’s an assault on men’s senses.
The problem with this is Sharia law says basically the same thing only it says a man is not at fault if he was turned on by the way the woman dressed and acted.
Did Elmer Gantry just show up???
I saw a nekkid woman and was involuntary stimulated! RAPE!!!
Well, depending on where the holes are, it could work...
