Most freepers would give better advice then anyone from the swamp. We were all puzzled as to why he backed Strange, but he may have had a good reason.

Supposedly it was because Strange was loyally backing the Trump agenda.

Although I suspect, that Strange was doing that because there were already enough votes in the Senate against Trump's agenda, for example McCain, Collins, Flake, Paul...etc. If push came to shove, and if McConnell needed an anti Trump vote, Strange would have flipped against Trump.

Just my guess of course, but Trump shouldn't support McConnell establishment incumbents such as Strange.

Drain the swamp.

Ann Coulter squawking on the radio that it’s JAROD KUSHNER’S FAULT!!! I wonder if she’s a certain frenzied freeper here?

She hasn’t realized that she’s too old to be idiosyncratic. She’s just clinical at this point.

Oh,, Trump WAS misled by Mitch. I’m sure Mitch lied about more than one thing to get Trump’s endorsement of Strange. But did Trump believe anything Mitch said? No way. Trump added pluses and minuses up and then chose the win-win option.

The fake news that he was furious was probably set up by Trump for the benefit of RINO’s and establishment folks. Story? Here’s naive earnest non-politician Trump, going against his perfectly good instincts and clear vision to cooperate with an inept ineffectual and out of touch professional. Trump the victim is “furious” at the villain Mitch. AND he gets Roy Moore as a Senator. Perfectly played hand.

Trump is not dumb and he’s tuned into the internet BIG LEAGUE. As others have said, he knew Strange was in trouble. If anyone gets the straight dope (and anyone is entitled to back the wrong candidate - I know I have) it is the president.

I suspect Trump to publicly call for McConnell to resign from the Senate.

Before the weekend.

Surely there are more talented people than Elaine Chao.

Can’t be many with better control of the gag reflex.

Trump, officials and informal advisers say, felt misled
by McConnell and his political team, who encouraged
him to endorse and campaign for Strange.

Actually, what CNN and the rest of the Left losers don't understand is this campaign all along was a Win-Win for trump.

1. By backing Strange Trump appeased the party loyalists.

2. Since the initial primary polls showed Moore always solidly ahead of Strange. If Strange had come back and won, he and Turtle would have owed the world to Trump as the Donald could have easily showed it was his support that pulled out the victory.

3. Trump was never hostile to Moore, unlike Turtle and his $30 million worth of vicious lying attack ads. Trump actually praised Moore on more than one occasion, and never burned that bridge.

4. Trump called Moore immediately upon Moore being declared the winner and pledged his full support.

Trump should be infuriated with advisors who told him to take sides in the Alabama primary. Had he stayed out, the result would have been the same (I believe), his reputation with the winner’s supporters would have been intact, and like his own election he could simply be saying today: “the establishment lost again”.

What I’d say to Trump is - fire those who told you to back strange Mr. Strange.

McConnell has been betraying Republicans and the Country for all of his political career. He has as much charisma as a stepped on earth worm.

I agree with you. Trump is not unhappy with the result. This also gives Trump a one up on Tortoise Head.

I kind of laugh at everyone with their panties is a twist.

Ann is a political schizophrenic azz hat most of the time.

I read a column on Bob Corker (R-TN) saying that he also, played a large part in recommending Strange to Trump. There is no one left in the White House West Wing who would have recommended Judge Moore.

Moore is a religious zealot to the point of defying the law, or defending it, but wants to make a career of doing all of it in the US Senate. I can see why they all wondered how that will turn out. Lol.

This is best case scenario. Now Trump doesn’t need to support McTurtle. It’s all good.

And now that Strange lost, McConnell owes Trump.

I'm sorry EQAB! I thought you said "now that Strange lost, McConnell owns Trump"—not owes. Hence my negative reaction. My bad.

He could have been neutral. That was his only other option.

Strange has been nothing but a puppy that shows his belly to Trump every chance he got. If that behavior gets your primary opponent an endorsement from the president, no one in the Senate will feel any need to by loyal to President Trump ever.

Moore ran as Trump but Trumpier. But you wonder what he’s going to do the first time he reads about a gay wedding at a military chapel or something.
