When I was 21, I went into the office of a producer of the television show I was starring in to discuss a big problem. By this point I had been acting for more than a decade, and the show was very successful and beloved. Still, I was nervous about facing the firing squad of Emmys that sat behind him and saying what I had to say.
A crew member had kept showing up to my apartment after work unannounced, going into my trailer while I wasn’t in it, and staring daggers at me from across the set. I liked him at first. He was very sweet and kind in the beginning. We flirted a bit on set. But I was in a relationship. And liking someone certainly didn’t merit the kind of behavior he was exhibiting, which was making me feel unsafe.
My hands were freezing and I balled my wardrobe skirt up around my fists as I spoke. It was all caught in my throat — my embarrassment that it had gotten to this point. The producer listened. Then he said, “Well, there are two sides to every story.” For women in America who come forward with stories of harassment, abuse and sexual assault, there are not two sides to every story, however noble that principle might seem. Women do not get to have a side. They get to have an interrogation. Too often, they are questioned mercilessly about whether their side is legitimate. Especially if that side happens to accuse a man of stature, then that woman has to consider the scrutiny and repercussions she’ll be subjected to by sharing her side.

I feel sorry for young women like this. They are often very unhappy because their lives are built around lies, but they don’t understand it, so they can’t ever make a change for the better.

In the early ‘90’s I was being stalked by a married female employee. She would follow me home, follow me around the office, it was nerve-racking. I went to the dyke who ran HR and she cackled with laughter like this was the funniest thing she had ever heard. She told everybody about it and even joked with and encouraged the woman who was stalking me. When the stalker managed to convince our boss to move me to the desk next to her’s, I quit. This woman later did the same thing to another male employee, a real beta male. She ended up divorced and married to the new stalk-ee.
So, it goes both ways. It wasn’t that people didn’t believe me, it’s that they thought it was hilarious. (Well, most of them men who knew the stalker didn’t. But the rest of the company, who were loudly kept updated by the HR Director, did.)
There is the presumption of innocence until proven guilty.

while I feel sorry for her, the truth is woman have brought that on themselves by lying about rape and child abuse, incest and husband abuse for profit, fame glory or simply to get their won way in life or court.
You would be hard pressed to not find a Pastor who has had the sad work of talking, not always successfully, a man out of suicide because of false accusation.
This behavior by girls starts at a very young age for step daughters.
One such instance happened a good number of years ago, a priest left the priesthood and married a divorced women with a daughter, all was fine till the girl turned 12, while he still had strong moral principals it was not so with the step daughter, she accused him of forcing her to perform fellatio, he could not take the horrible looks, comments and behavior towards him, even by so many that should have know better, so he killed himself.
that was close to 35 years ago, she later confessed that she had lied, nothing happened to her because the 'authorities' felt she had suffered enough.
And that is why women and girls are not always trusted.
