I agree 100%
Cops will just slam your face up against the phone...
Well, actually, they will just hold it up to you and say, ‘is this your phone’
Click
Easy open.
Easy peasy.
Dont think they thought this one thru !
apple ping.
LOL!
When they start handing this junk out when I open a checking account; give me a call. Until then, meh...
I think our new HP laptops have this feature, but I didn’t enable it during setup.
My galaxy S8 has retinal scan unlocking and my Surface has 3d facial recognition.
Once again Apple is very late to the party with old technology.
Both have password alternatives,
The continued crud you say shows you have absolutely no idea about reality. One person can only do so much in part of one year and with both political parties working against you.
Just think; anifa types will have to uncover their faces now to use their phones!
And Muslim woman with thier faces covered!
That alone will cause Apple to be sued!!!
How much of that $1000 is labor and how much goes to the bonus for the CEO?
This is really stupid. I will not buy a phone with facial recognition to unlock.
Does it allow ONE ONLY face, or can you give it several faces besides your own? Does it know the difference between a living face and a dead face? Can the thief kill you and wave the phone in front of your face?
Makeup. Beards. Wounds. Suntan. Sourpuss. Tooth infection causing swelling. Contact lenses. Eyeglasses. Sex-”change” operations. Race-change. (rachel dolezal and linda sarsour).
Really really stupid, and it passes as high technology.
Somebody else pointed out “muzzies!” What are the burka babes going to do? they’ll have to remove the face covering and let a MALE phone see their bare face! If that isn’t haram, nothing is.
All such data stays in the Secure Enclave, for which there is no way to export that data, at least in current phones.
Just like current phones, you need enter the password when booting up, so your face won’t help them.
Turn off your phone before handing it over and you will be fine.
I can’t prove it, but what with each personal locator device and the leader going to facial recognition, this is but a precursor of no place to hide. /Captain 1984 Obvious
With an economic collapse, using electronic money doled out via a welfare program would force virtually everyone to sign up. Especially if old currency was illegal for not being the new “world-currency”. JMHO
They’ve been working on 1.2 billion in India for some time now

I read about this.
A close friend of my daughter works in this area. She is a software developer.
What with the pay-by-phone, that may be the next step to normalization. First it was Fast-Pass, now the Phone thing has been going on; though it’s not huge yet.
Wonder if IBM was planning on phone or chips for this one? These are already out there in a few places. Pastor friend went through one overseas. Maybe it was fingerprint - which is already in my area (thumbprint I think). And then there’s the bracelet.
TRIIA - Bracelet downloads cash from phone - broadcasts transaction on wrist

Last I heard, RFID is a disaster.
They’ll probably start with phones for auto pay / auto debit like in the IBM commercial.
I used to program the escape codes for the printers that were the pre-cursor to their own models for bar codes / RFID tags. Even had an RFID tag encoder/printer on my last gig (it was used for shipping). And believe me they were anything but state-of-the-art there.
Good news!
The facial recognition did not work when they introduced it on stage in front of a million nerds. : )
