Leah Remini snapped Anthony Bourdains four-year Emmy winning streak, taking the trophy tonight for Best Informational Series or Special at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
Remini won her first Emmy, off her first nom, for A&Es Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, exploring accounts of former Scientology members whose lives have been significantly impacted by the orgs practices.

My thoughts, too. She has the courage of her convictions. Wish more could be done for those who have had their minds “controlled” over time.
I’m surprised the leaders of Scientology have not been murdered yet. I would imagine a 20+ year person leaving the cult would be experiencing the loss of a chunk of their life and would be pissed.

It is a different time with church much weaker than when he and Nicole split which leaves Katie free to make movies about mental illness, psychiatry and the like. She seems to have done amazingly well in throwing them off her track actually.
