LOOK: Was UCLA's game-winning TD pass vs. Texas A&M actually incomplete?
Yahoo news ^ | Sept. 4, 2017 | Ben Kercheval

The referees never reviewed the game-winning touchdown pass thrown by UCLA star quarterback Josh Rosen to complete a historic comeback and erase a 34-point deficit against Texas A&M on Sunday night. Perhaps they should have done so:

I detest UCLA, but that comeback was unbelievable.

I do like the Aggies, but if you cannot hold onto a 34 point lead, you do not deserve any sympathy for a possible bad call.

Too bad the GIF cuts off where it does, but I do believe he had gained control before he stepped out.

I didn’t see the game but was surprised at the comeback.

Viewing that in slow motion there is no question. His second foot definitely out of bounds.

Like some others probably say, Texas A&M should never have let it get that close.

We recorded the game and were about 30 minutes behind real time. It was the third quarter, Aggies still had a huge lead. I think it was 44-10 at the time.

My wife was on the phone with her brother (he was in real time). She told him we were about to turn the game off.

"Keep watching" was all he said.

I am sure glad he did.

College football only needs one foot inbounds to count as a catch.

I think we can say he has control while his inbound foot is still in touch with the turf. Very close call.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it one foot in college? I know it used to be, but it could have changed. I don’t pay that much attention.

Right. People are saying that he didn’t have control at the time that foot was on the ground.

True. Besides, you only need one foot in bounds in college ball. He made the catch and had control while he was in bounds. Also, “The ball was moving” carries not a lot of weight in college ball.

You are right, I just remembered and it also looks like he had control of it before the second step.

Yes, the question was whether he had control when that one foot was down. I’d say give them the td and go with the Refs call.

The best (or worst) ending to a football game still has to be Plano vs East Texas HS football championship in Texas. Down 24 with 3:03 left Plano comes back scoring 4 touchdowns to go ahead by 4. With seconds left they kickoff and Tyler takes the return in for a touchdown spoiling the comeback.

One foot needs to be down in bounds at the time control is established.

I dunno... the last football game that I paid attention to, was more than 40 years ago. I will leave it to the experts.

i gave up on the bruins at halftime as the aggies were dominating them with the run game. mora dropped a safety down as linebacker to stop the run and rosen went off and i missed one of the best comebacks ever.

Poor Aggies coach must be the poster boy for prevent defense.

This is bad.

Just by freeze frame that is a legal college football catch as others indicated.

A little birdie told me there’s gonna be a head coach job open up in Aggie Land real soon. Anybody interested, lol?

My mom chose tennis over her beloved Bruins (she and dad were in the stands at every home game for 50+years) last night. She has Alzheimer’s but definitely was thrilled to see this in the paper this morning. Where can I find the whole game to watch for her? Do they repeat them? Does Hulu or anything have them? Anyone know? (She wouldn’t appreciate the highlights on YouTube.)

And on very close calls it’s the one made on the field that’s considered final. Needs to be an obvious error to overrule the official’s call. Have no dog in the fight, but pretty damned exciting finish for the ages.
