The average transgender soldier will spend 238 days recovering from sex change surgeries and unavailable to deploy, according to an Obama administration study.
The Trump administration's transgender ban places deployability as a determining factor into whether to admit transgender individuals into the military. The White House outlined guidelines to implement the ban within six months in a memo to Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.
The ability to be deployed to war zones or bases around the world is an issue for transgender soldiers who undergo taxpayer-funded sex change operations, according to a study by the RAND Corporation.

Whats curious about this...is that a Army-mother is typically given about sixty days max after giving birth, and is generally expected to then be deployable.
The problem I see with the 238 day thing is that the guy is paid for this entire period as if he were capable of being deployed. If some idiot were to approach the NBA or NFL and say he was going transgender and would be missing the bulk of next season...the team would just let the guy go and refuse to pay his contract.
Yeah, and on day 239 they are just a normal, healthy, well-adjusted guy who cut his penis off. /s
That’s a cold sobering truth. Guy joins the military. He tells them he wants a sex change operation. 238 days later he’s fit as a fiddle and ready for war. Yeah, right.
Anything that lessens the effective fighting ability of the military must not be done!
I am the least racist guy you could ever meet... but I understand the reasoning behind the decision to segregate the force by race in the past....because not doing it at that time would have reduced effective fighting ability. that is NOT true today.
I believe that at this time having transsexual soldiers could reduce the capabilities of the military...this may not be true at some time in the future....
The military is only for killing people and breaking things.

I think what’s needed is for some NBA or NFL superstar to announce that he is taking a year off to pursue “gender transition” and expects the team to keep paying his/her $25+ million salary in the year away. Oh, and when S/he comes back on female hormones sans penis and with much less testosterone, well ok she may not play as well as before, but that’s just the price the team and fans must PAY for “gender transexual equality” !!!!

I heard of quite a few folks that joined the military because they wanted free maturity care. And women do get pregnant to avoid deployment.

That is an absolute certainty. I saw it many times in my Navy days, even before women were assigned to combat ships. They would openly brag about it and make official requests to have the father re-assigned, which didn't happen that often. Guess who took up those empty billets or worked more hours? Yup. Boys or young men.
He just wanted to leave a big, steaming pile in the middle of the Oval office floor for Pres. Trump.
We don’t let regular people join the military so that they can get elective surgeries and be incapacitated for 8 months getting paid.

New women will never ever be able to ‘deploy’ again.
I bet some would immediately be eligible for some sort of disability and never deploy at all and be on military benefits for the rest of their lives, never having even served a single day. If they can figure out they can join the military just to get taxpayer funded OPTIONAL AND COSMETIC surgeries, they can figure out how to further milk the system. And they will. There was already on trans who complained that he was joining JUST to get the surgery and now he wouldn’t be able to have it. Americans would be on the hook for all kinds of services for them and psychiatric help ain’t cheap.
Don’t know if anyone here saw the Fox segment yesterday with General Boykin explaining the issue, and the homosexual Army Ranger going to bat (no pun intended) for transgender military. I would say Boykin calmly explained why they should not be in the military, while the homo ranger got a bit excited explaining how ready tranies were and how many there were already ready. I believe Boykin won the day, but there are lots of loud voices and squeaky wheels on the other side or what should not be debated.
We all know if some poor devil wants to whack off his pecker and grow some tits it is his prerogative, but the tax payers do not need to foot the bill for this insanity. We sure do not need to wait nearly a year for the sick individuals to get ready for some Muzzies to abuse it

Then you have to pay them for life. Easiest way to do this is have a policy that stipulates that elective surgery will not be paid for by the US Government.
Obama used the military as a way to have taxpayers fund sex-change operations for all of his fellow-travelers in the LGBT community. Nothing more. Nothing less.
