I heard of quite a few folks that joined the military because they wanted free maturity care. And women do get pregnant to avoid deployment.
That is an absolute certainty. I saw it many times in my Navy days, even before women were assigned to combat ships. They would openly brag about it and make official requests to have the father re-assigned, which didn't happen that often. Guess who took up those empty billets or worked more hours? Yup. Boys or young men.
