Former vice president and Democratic presidential nominee Al Gore told HBO's Bill Maher he thinks he carried the state of Florida in 2000, a state that would have given Gore the presidency over George W. Bush.
Gore, 69, visited Maher on HBO's "Real Time" on Friday to discuss his follow-up climate change documentary "An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power" when the host broached the issue of rising sea levels. ....
“So when the sea levels rise, obviously we could lose Venice. We could lose Florida. And who would know better about losing Florida?” Maher joked, leading to some groans from the live studio audience in Los Angeles.
“Actually, I think I carried Florida,” a smiling Gore retorted. “But that’s another --- we won’t go there.” Maher agreed that Gore won the hotly-contested state and its 25 electoral votes at the time. “That’s right, OK, there you go. I think you do did too."

I was one of the “thugs in Brooks Brothers”. (although I generally wore Italian in those days) who shouted down the illegal recount at the Broward County courthouse. I remember getting all up in Gerald Nadler’s face until some cop pulled me away. It was one of the best things I ever did, and I had never done anything like that before. It still have my Sore Loserman and Let the Military Vote! signs, too.

I hope you aren’t calling Judge Bob Rosenberg a loser. He was on our side...one of the few in the room who was. His famous magnifying glass is now in the Smithsonian.
Despite NUMEROUS recounts by the Bush hating leftists, not one recount ever showed a Gore win.
The LSM reported Florida won by Gore prematurely to discourage voting in the Panhandle, in a later time zone and notoriously Republican.

It was just a famous picture from the time, emphasizing what a LOSER Algore was/is/and will always be.
Ok, no need to be spiky about it. Bob is a friend of mine and most people associate his picture with the Gore side of the recount, so whenever I see it I do what I can to make sure the record is straight.
