Gore: 'I think I carried Florida'
The Hill ^ | August 5, 2017

Former vice president and Democratic presidential nominee Al Gore told HBO's Bill Maher he thinks he carried the state of Florida in 2000, a state that would have given Gore the presidency over George W. Bush.

Gore, 69, visited Maher on HBO's "Real Time" on Friday to discuss his follow-up climate change documentary "An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power" when the host broached the issue of rising sea levels. ....

“So when the sea levels rise, obviously we could lose Venice. We could lose Florida. And who would know better about losing Florida?” Maher joked, leading to some groans from the live studio audience in Los Angeles.

“Actually, I think I carried Florida,” a smiling Gore retorted. “But that’s another --- we won’t go there.” Maher agreed that Gore won the hotly-contested state and its 25 electoral votes at the time. “That’s right, OK, there you go. I think you do did too."

Hillary will be the same 20 years from now, if she lives that long.

Reminds me of Michael Dukakis. Every few years it seems he shows up on some PBS/NPR show claiming that he would have won if it weren’t for that racist Willie Horton ad.
And I’m certain that if you hooked up a lie detector to him he would pass. Not because it’s true (he was crushed), but because he actually believes it.

Doesn’t matter what you think manbearpig. reality is you lost the election because you lost WV, not FL!

Had your party not decided that the blue collar worker didn’t matter long ago you would have won WV and FL would not have mattered.. 2000 should have been a lesson that your Party was marching itself off a cliff... Had they listened 2016 probably would not have happened... But like the fools you are you didn’t see the obvious

If he were convinced about that and though he was truly wronged by the voting system, he would have pursued repairs to the voting system to improve its integrity. America would be better for it and maybe he would even get elected president legitimately.

Instead, he lobbied to make the breath coming out of our lungs a pollutant and became wealthy from it while America suffered to adjust to the nonsense.

Bush was better than Gore would have been. Hey we got Alito and (cough) Roberts. One reels at what Gore would have dumped on us. Between Reagan and Trump, W was the best president. Though that is really not saying much.

If Al Gore really believed he had won in 2000, he would have run again in 2004. He didn’t — because he knows better than anyone that he’s always been an ‘effing loser.

I believe it was Limbaugh who, shortly after the decision, attempted to recreate a dimpled ballot. The only way it could be done was by inserting multiple ballots into the puncher. Makes sense from a logic and mechanical perspective. Also makes sense that democrats were the ones howling for recounts...and likely stuffing more “votes” into the boxes each time.

Personally, I've never belonged to any party. Not a big fan of political parties to begin with, but over the years I've come to be very suspicious of anyone claiming the democratic party. Every party will have its issues, and its bad apples, but the democratic party is a collection of scammers, liars, and criminals.

It is really simple.

The Democrats cherry picked the county with the highest percentage of Rat voters and tried to add as many as possible knowing that percentage wise most would be for Gore.

If they did the same thing for all counties, it would have just reinforced Gore’s loss.

“Actually, I think I carried Florida,” a smiling Gore retorted. “But that’s another --- we won’t go there.”

Typical liberal. Throw out some dumb statement and then immediately shut down any further debate on it.

My liberal sister does that all the time... things like: "Bush started that evil practice called rendition". I say: "Actually, Clinton started that". She'll then snap back angrily: "I don't want to discuss politics with you!".

Alternative version of history.

If Al Gore had gone the intellectually honest route of calling for a recount of EVERY precinct in Florida, instead of the selected few where he KNEW the vote tampering went in favor of the Democrat slate of electors, the margin in favor of Bush would have been much more impressive.

A win is a win, no thanks to George Bush, who would have cheerfully given up the victory had only a few more fraudulent votes been found.

Democrat strategy in close elections - keep recounting the votes until the Democrat may be declared the winner, and then halt any further efforts.

Worked for Al Franken.

Even though every subsequent investigation, including one by the New York Times found that Gore lost. Give it up morons!

Plus the Democrats “found” bushels of after-hour uncounted ballots that went overwhelmingly for Gore. How this could happen legitimately, I cannot begin to fathom.
