What an obnoxious hag. How did you across this “gem”?

Where do you get the time or energy to be hall monitor here?

What makes you think it takes up time or energy?

You post to me, I post to you.. all same same.

So.. how come you posted a bunch of gibberish as a thread?

Were you short of time and couldn't be bothered to get it right?

Death Wish 1974 was a fantastic movie.

Think about what a $hithole NYC was at the time.

All kinds of crime.

Until Giuliani cleaned things up, it wasn't much better until the 90s or so.

And to think that there are NYC residents who still hate him for fixing decades of liberal policing.

Bloomberg sucked, but he kept Rudy's policies in place.

DeBlasio is trying to take NYC back into the sewer.

I'm glad they are setting the modern Death Wish in Chicago.

Much more plausible.

NYC, though markedly larger, is still safer than Chicago.

What’s weird is actress Wendy Crewson (pro’ly best known as the first lady in AIR FORCE ONE) is in the trailer but not in the credits as a shrink or old friend of Willis’s

I think the original DEATH WISH with Charles Bronson beat Eastwood’s DIRTY HARRY MOVIES by a year or two and there was scattered snowflake reaction back then, but not so much in Hollywood where the old time moguls still held power and loved the boffo box office.

Kinda reminds me of the recent quip on gab when one of the gabbers asked if it was okay to pray for the cancer.....

The 2017 “Death Wish” was filmed in Quebec Canada.

As per usual, but it looks like they shot at least some of it in Chi-town.

When I first heard they were rebooting Death Wish, I thought “No, please!” But ... Bruce Willis? Modernized storyline? Okay ... this looks good.

And the best part... Melting Snowflakes.

“Too bad it’s got Willis in it.”

I agree,I can’t stand him-———I’ll stick with the original version.

I will pass this favor on that I got from a movie thread here about a year ago.

Although not a vigilante film, if you like 70s films you owe it to yourself to watch cult film The Warriors (1979).

If nothing else a great use of NYC as a backdrop. Yeah a bit cheesy, but imagine watching it in 1979.

No the other way around

Dirty Harry 1971 4 more after with the last in 1988

Death Wish 1974 4 more after with the last in 1994

I LOVE The Warriors.

Saw it in the early 80s but it was very clear that the city was still just a jungle.

When I visited NYC as an adult in 1985, it looked pretty much the same.

When I returned in 2000 or so, it was like a completely different city.

Kids and families walking around in Times Square?

Not in the early 80s.

And to your point, one of my friends said that when Death Wish was shown to 1974 audiences, that people were clapping and cheering when "the punks" got shot.

IIRC, in the novel, Paul Kersey is a milquetoast liberal who wouldn't hurt a fly.

That's why when he starts fighting back, he gets physically sick.

It turns his whole world-view upside down.

Absolutely so.
