How To Permanently Delete A Facebook Account
Here is the direct link to the official Facebook account deletion page.
Delete Facebook Share
Read the step-by-step guide for a clean, dignified exit.
A deceased member's account can be memorialized or deleted. The Facebook Account Deletion Process
Your account will be deactivated for two weeks. After this period it will be permanently deleted.
Do not login to your account during this time. It will cancel the deletion request.
Do not be fooled into switching to a deactivation request. Deactivation is NOT deletion.
Consider an account deletion epitaph to notify friends of your departure. What Happens To Your Data?
In theory, deleting your account immediately removes all Facebook data related to you. In reality it's more complicated, taking about a month.
Allegations of complicity with National Security Agency surveillance suggest that your data may never truly be deleted.
You can still cleanse your Facebook presence for everyone else,
Delete any sensitive content that you have posted. Contact friends about content that you would like deleted.
Backup your data before deletion if you'd like a copy. Leaving Social Data Behind
As hard as you try, some personally identifiable information may remain. This could be something as simple as your name on a message.
You have little control over this or what others share about you in future. The most you can realistically do is ask your friends to respect your privacy.
Data shared with apps and advertisers is with them forever. As a Facebook user you are leaving behind a valuable personal data footprint. Enjoy Your Freedom
"And remember, where you have a concentration of power in a few hands, all too frequently men with the mentality of gangsters get control. History has proven that. All power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely." Sir John Dalberg-Acton.
I deleted my FakeBook account years ago.
FB was very helpful in electing 2 conservatives to our large School district School Board this past spring. One was a 21 year old fellow. It has its uses.
I have friends who ask me if I’ve checked out their FB accounts and I say “Nope - not going there” I don’t even have a LinkedIn account, removed that one too.

It would also be cool to have a program that would replace everything in a FB account with random fake information. Their business model falls apart if enough people did that.
Give your pet a F__Book account (with their picture, of course).
That will help F___ up their database.
I’ve had a few FB accounts. My current (and all past accounts) have never used my real name, my birthday lists me as 30 years younger and I don’t list anybody as family. I’ll delete my current account one of these days.
Facebook has many uses (as does Twitter, which helped elect our current president).
It's just another tool, neither inherently good nor bad. It is what one makes of it.
Your pushing fear tactics.
No reason to have a Facebook account, even for Millennials.
Plenty of other ways to document who you are and to sell your abilities to employers.
I’ve noticed that most executives do not have a facebook account.
If people wanted Facebook's business model to fall apart, they would just stop using it like they did with MySpace.

Give your pet a f**kbook account? You do realize there is such a thing, right? It's an adult site.
The facial recognition data is worth $$ to someone. That aspect alone was troubling when the potential was realized. Too late, of course.
I hope they never read too deep into my weekend plans of BBQ with the grandkids, while some document every second of their lives and win Darwin awards.
The Darwin awards go to the folks who talk about their future vacation plans.
It is like posting a newspaper ad saying: “Robbers—help yourself to everything in my house anytime from August 7 to August 15!
“A Millennial not having a Facebook account is going to look strange to an employer. It’s going to be a flashing red light. “Will this guy be a team player or he is a loner?” “
None of my 3 college-aged kids have FB accounts. Having one actually dates you.
That said, I have a dummy account I use to research potential new hires, and yes, it’s part of my job responsibilities. I don’t have a “real” account.
My millenial son isn’t on FB. They use Snapchat and probably other social media I don’t even know about, but FB isn’t used much.
“I deleted my FB account about a month ago.......................It’s been great!............ “
Me too, and I don’t miss it a bit. Fakebook, what a waste of time.
Spent like an hour checking out girls i went to HS with back in ‘85 and some old GF’s a few weeks ago.
It was easy with the HS part, they were all linked together.
What i got out of it was that time reallly sucks.
the pretty girls are mostly now overweight and old looking.
My last GF looks like a washed up made up hag....glad that one ended. narcissistic sociopath that she is..
Never had a real FB account, got a fake one for message boards.

Start posting videos and content critical of Islam.
That’ll do it.
“The easiest way to not has a social media account is not to get one in the first place.”
That’s right! I’ve never had a Facebook page and I’ve never had problems with Facebook! Amazing how that works!
And a lot quicker than 2 weeks!......................
