Cruise ship security personnel who found a man in his cabin near his wife's bloodied body said he told witnesses, "She would not stop laughing at me," court documents reveal.
A federal criminal complaint released Thursday charges Kenneth Manzanares with murder in the killing aboard the Emerald Princess in U.S. waters off Alaska Tuesday night. Princess Cruises says Kristy Manzanares, a 39-year-old Utah woman, died in the attack that's believed to have resulted from a domestic dispute.

Kristy Manzanares was found in the cabin dead with a severe head wound, and "blood was spread throughout the room on multiple surfaces," the affidavit said. Kenneth Manzanares was in the cabin with blood on his hands and clothing, a responding security officer told the FBI agent who signed the affidavit.
The security officer handcuffed Kenneth Manzanares and secured him in an adjoining cabin. Witnesses who entered the room before the officer arrived told the officer they found Kenneth Manzanares with blood on his hands and clothing, according to the affidavit. One witness told the officer he saw the woman lying on the floor covered in blood, and when he asked Kenneth Manzanares what had happened, Manzanares replied, "She would not stop laughing at me."
The witness said Kenneth Manzanares then grabbed the victim's body and dragged her towards the cabin's balcony, the affidavit says. The witness then grabbed then victim's ankles and pulled her back inside the cabin. Security arrived shortly afterward.
Later, when Kenneth Manzanares was being processed during an FBI evidence search, "he spontaneously stated, 'My life is over,'" the affidavit said.

I spend a lot of time trying to make my wife laugh. I wonder what was really going on that she was laughing at him, not with him.
Hahaha!
Got to be more to this story. Drugs, alcohol, cheating? All 3?
Here's hoping you get the hot squat....it'll be a far better fate than you deserve.
A Mormon bail bondsman who filed bankruptcy a few years ago takes his wife on an Alaska cruise (balcony room) and murders her in front of at least one of the young children. Then gets stopped before he can throw her off the balcony.

What a horrible episode. This guy is so psychotic, such an insecure big baby, that he beats his wife to death for laughing at him? Makes you wonder how long he had been this sick. He was dragging her body to the edge of the ship, hoping, perhaps to throw it overboard. Unimaginable. Now his three daughters have to deal with knowing how their mom spent her last moments of life, and why.
Even if he were drunk, alcohol would not ‘make’ you do this if you weren’t already thinking of it. Meth, Spice, Bath Salts, PCP, ‘Special’ Mushrooms, or Cocaine might. Drugs plus untreated mental illness.
**Unanswered; What exactly WAS she laughing about?
One day, he may have to answer that in court. He will probably say ‘I don’t remember, Judge. “That wasn’t really me!”
Perhaps.
Reminds me of the guy earlier this month who killed his wife in the Uber they were taking home from a wedding. He was extremely intoxicated, she wouldn't let him go to the after-party so he pulled out his CCW pistol and shot her in the back of the head.
When police caught up with him, he had passed out in the bushes, reeked of alcohol, and didn't remember any of it. Kept asking how his wife was doing.
They looked like a normal couple. He just snapped.

Which wife? /rimshot>
Talk about a party buzzkill.
“Sorry,pal....your wife laughing at you (what happened, another failure between the sheets???) isn’t a legitimate reason for killing her.Not even close.”

Guess he didn’t get the memo:
“WOMEN! Can’t live with ‘em... can’t shoot ‘em!”
OK. Poor taste but a great comeback. I’m not sure how to score that one.
maybe he is mentally ill. in front of the kids, and then trying to throw her overboard?
The one from Utah was "Utah welcomes you and your wives."
“Sorry,pal....your wife laughing at you (what happened, another failure between the sheets???) isn’t a legitimate reason for killing her.Not even close.”
Right. There are so many reasons but a hyena attack isn’t one of them.
Laughing isn’t so bad. But was she POINTING while she was laughing? That wouldn’t be good.
"Women! Can't live with them, can't cut them up into little pieces and say they went to visit their mother!" -- Fozzie Bear, The Muppet Show
Eventually, the husbands of chronically unfriendly wives will have only themselves to blame for their ongoing misery. By then, their attempts at showing kindness are assumed by the woman to be weakness. The vicious cycle repeats itself until one day it’s “POW!...to the moon, Alice!”.
Horrible incident. The exception to my statement would be that small percentage of people who should never, ever drink any alcohol at all. If lucky, those people find out early in life that they, or relatives close to them have this weakness, and act responsibly.
I have often heard that many American Indians ‘cannot handle’ alcohol consumption without quickly becoming full out alcoholics. I don’t know if that’s just an old myth or what? Still you look at the quality of life on many of today’s reservations, and you have to wonder, if there is some truth to it. I recall stories of how opium ruined the lives of many Chinese in the late 1800’s. China had it’s own way of dealing with the Opium Dens, and it wasn’t done via counseling or enabling.
