The United States is warning travelers to Mexico about tainted or counterfeit alcohol following the death of a Wisconsin woman.

...

The death of Abbey Connor, 20, is just one of many incidents of travelers becoming sick after drinking alcohol at Mexican resorts, the paper reported.

Connor, 20, was pulled from a pool at an Iberostar resort near Playa del Carmen in January, according to the paper.

After the story, the paper received numerous reports from others who said they got sick and experienced blackouts at resorts in Cancun and Playa del Carmen.

Can we send all the ‘Rat and RINO politicians on vacations to Mexican resorts? How about the MSM, too?

We can offer a crowd-funding platform if they will promise to go and drink heavily.... FREE BOOZE!

I noticed that it doesn’t say what it was tainted with.

Gringos congregating in groups in Mexico attract fraudsters, rapists and criminals like fishermen finding a school of fish.

Just watch, Mexico will fire back urging people not to eat fake Mexican food from the US (i.e. Chipotle).

What’s the point of going to margaritaville if you can’t drink a margarita?

Cozumel has a dozen beach venues that cruise ship folks scoot down to for a break from the crowds. These places got caught spiking cheapo tequila with Everclear. Mixed with all that sugary margarita mix few could tell and the got blitzed.

Then these places substituted local moonshine to save $$ from real Everclear. Bad move. They got caught and several thrown in the slammer because of the bad PR.

If these guys were spiking w local moonshine I bets this is a methanol poisoning.

How things never change.

I was visiting a factory in Chihuahua once and the plant manager complained that the reason why quality suffered was because the locals (businesses, people, etc.) would swap out a more expensive piece for a cheaper piece to save a few pennies.

Basically ripping off their customers.

He used the example of the stick of butter on our table. He said that the butter looks and might even taste like butter but it isn't butter — it might be salted lard with a yellow die.

Interesting that many US appliance manufacturers are moving to ol’ Mexico. I'd be very wary of anything Hecho en Mexico.

Even alcohol won’t kill the germs in the water.

Never drink anything in Mexico(or most other countries) that does not come from a bottle that you open or witness opening.

However, I was at the Marriot in Boston once. I took a bottle of Heineken out of the mini fridge in the room(I was traveling on business/expense account). I took a drink and did not taste beer. I went to the bathroom sink and spit it out. Some prior occupant had twisted off the cap drank the beer, refilled it with tap water and put it back so they would not get charged. That is why now many of the mini fridges in hotels state you will be charged IF you remove anything from the fridge. Apparently, this was happening all the time.

Mexico doesn’t need to warn anybody about Chipotle.

They have a disease outbreak every few months or so it seems.

Go to the real Margaritaville (Key West, Florida) to drink untainted alcohol instead.
