New York Post ^ | 7/26

SNIP

The undrafted pick in 2015 had spent the last two seasons in Dallas. This offseason has been a busy one for him: Before the mistaken identity mess, Whitehead’s dog was stolen and held for ransom last week.

And you thought you had a lousy week...

What makes the story a million times better is his first name.

I was actually going to make a lame joke about that when I noticed it really is his name. Young Mr. Whitehead may be forgiven for concluding that Dallas just ain’t his town...

Meanwhile there are still about 10 real criminals on the Cowboys’ roster.

Cut Whitehead for no reason but Ezekiel Elliot gets a free pass on domestic violence.
Nice.

Headline confused me. I thought WR was abbreviation for Wranglers:

Well that’s one guard dog that didn’t pan out.

Is his name “McCain”?

It sure could be a stupid move by the Cowboys, but I’d bet Whitehead was already on thin ice and management knows things about him that aren’t public - yet.

If he had been guilty the Browns would have picked him up.

But.....but......according to Jason Garrett, the Cowboys are built around ‘character guys.’

Yeah, they’re ‘characters’ alright.

That has always been the case.

During the Barry Switzer era Dallas recruited heavily from Oklahoma University because players who already had a parole or probation officer fit into the team better...

Reminds me of the movie, "BASEketball", where the Dallas team nickname was the "Felons."

Why did the Cowboys go to a no huddle offense? Associating with known criminals would be a parole violation

You bet correctly. This guy missed team meetings showed up late, never could run the right route, etc...and he was the last receiver. There is no way he would beat out Ryan Switzer...

Free pass? Seriously? Investigated for over a year and not one allegation proven? Whitehead is no saint. He has been a major dufus and had zero chance of beating out Ryan Switzer. In the mean time, the sixth receiver had become a huge distraction. To compare the least receiver with the NFL rushing champion is ludicrous.

If this were Star Trek, Whitehead would be wearing the red shirt.
