There are many threads I don’t hit because I don’t like the subject matter, the author, the source or the poster. I choose to ignore probably at least half of the threads posted here. To each, his own.

Huh? The headline of the article via link had the same trashy jargon as in the text in the link. That’s why it was yanked IMO.
I have no problem with the Sidebar Moderator. At least not the one who was courteous enough to respond to my FReepmails.

And don’t forget the duplicate threads. There used to be a time when dupes were deleted or locked and posters who posted a duplicate thread were snarked at.
Not anymore. Now there can be 5 - 10 threads or more on a single story.

be-baw, not to worry. I had a comment disappear last night on another thread that someone didn’t like. It wouldn’t have been so bad, but then that same person thought they were going to lecture me like my Mommy did when I was just a kid, 60+ years ago. I didn’t swear, or call anyone a name, no racial slurs, no threats of violence. And then today, that same person sent another reply to me, and used the same word in their comment, that they had gotten removed the night before. Things That Make You Go Hmmm.
Who the #%* knows why a #%[{ mod might be put off by a little colorful language. I say /)$# em if they can’t take a joke.
Nothing that hasn't been posted in comments on threads for years here.
Not just threads on the same story (event/topic). Multiple threads on the same article hours or days apart.

Thanks FRiend. I know this is a small matter...just wondering why my threads were deleted. The reason that was given was profanity. I’m all for keeping Free Republic clean and kid friendly. But what I posted will be on one of the popular TV shows around these days.
Yeah, there’s a TWD following here. Find another article that’s less offensive. Should be plenty.
Oh, and warn about the profanity in the trailer. Heh. negin will not survive this season. (I hope)

That is true. Using a phrase like that in the headline itself is different and unnecessary. Kind of like the difference between some occasionally uttering an obscenity vs someone comfortable uttering obscenity as part of their normal jargon. There is a certain trashy element out there that is comfortable with such language I suppose.
