CIA Director Pompeo slams NY Times for outing covert officer

CIA Director Mike Pompeo blasted the New York Times Thursday for publishing the name of the undercover officer in charge of the agency's Iran operations.

During a question-and-answer session at the Aspen Security Forum, an annual gathering of intelligence and national security officials and experts, Pompeo said the decision to publish the operative's name was "unconscionable." The audience applauded his statement after a brief period of silence.

The operative's name, which Fox News is withholding, was published in a June 2 story. The Times said it was publishing the name because the officer had previously been identified in other news reports and because the operative is "leading an important new administration initiative against Iran."

The Times story cited "current and former intelligence officials," who the report said spoke on condition of anonymity because the officer was undercover.

The SOBs at the NYT have exposed an American covert officer, have crippled his ability to function, and have put his life in jeopardy. These are the same cretins who went ballistic over the claimed outing of Valerie Plame who wasn't even undercover. How I do hate these people.

Every day this happens. Selling out America for a newspaper story. It’s disgraceful, it’s an act of national vandalism. That they wear this as a badge of whatever they think they are is testament to their wish to destroy America and what America has invested her resources into.

The CIA is capable of taking down a couple of NYT editors during a “random street robbery gone wrong”.

This was done on orders from Obama in order to keep his Iranian money laundering private and his treasonous nuke deal in place.

How about Pompeo had the reporter and editor arrested?

We are operating in a parallel universe. Sort of. Valerie Elise Plame Wilson--remember her? She had her identity as covert officer of the CIA leaked to the press by President Bush's Deputy Secretary of State Richard L. Armitage and subsequently made public. This led to the New York Times reporter Judith Miller spending 85 days in jail for refusing to reveal her sources to prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald knew the source of the leak (Armatage), but he wanted to go after reporters who refused to name their sources. After more than two years of investigation in the nation’s capital, with all of its perks, good restaurants, and plush accommodations, Fitzgerald did get a conviction with Scooter Libby who had no clue it was Armitage all along.

Investor's Business Daily questioned Fitzgerald's truthfulness in an editorial, stating "From top to bottom, this has been one of the most disgraceful abuses of prosecutorial power in this country's history...The Plame case proves [Fitzgerald] can bend the truth with the proficiency of the slickest of pols." This is what you get from a politically motivated prosecutor.

Is history going to repeat itself with President Trump? Is prosecuter Meuller going to ignore the real criminals and trump up a charge against Trump? According to Lou Dobbs, who spoke to Lars Larson tonight, we have a corrupt special prosecutor with a political agenda. Is it time for Trump to fire Meuller?

Are DJT et al., getting tired of losing scalps yet? Has the circus really come to town?

Pick an acknowledged problematic area, for example the IRS, and focus on it like a laser.

Gloves off, all committee “invitations” gone, just let it rain subpoena after subpoena. That “under oath” thingy is far too underutilized.

N.B., Recall Holder as AG and Fast ‘n Furious remains “under” the rug still.

“The CIA is capable of taking down a couple of NYT editors during a “random street robbery gone wrong”.”

Doubt it. The CIA is not capable of executing wet work anymore. You have to go to the Clinton Foundation to get a task like that completed.

OK, so where in the H is Sessions on appointing a “Fitzgerald” special counsel to go after the leaker? If it could be justified for a person no longer doing covert work, this would be a slam dunk on a 4 foot high net. Even a legal midget could get it done. Consider she even did an interview with Variety where she described her work before this whole thing broke.

Jeff Sessions, please pick up the white courtesy phone.

Valerie Plame was not even a covert agent, and look at the fallout that resulted from her name being released.

At least as much attention should be directed at illuminating just who was the perpetrator of this name release.

NYT is begging to die. Not because of government action, but between fake news and inappropriate release of confidential information, they destroy any shred of their own integrity.
