The film stars Kodi Smit-McPhee as a prehistoric young man who must befriend a wolf to survive. Alpha takes "man's best friend" to the next level.
The film takes place 20,000 years ago in Europe, during the last ice age, and centers on a young man who is injured and left for dead by his tribe while on a hunt. He finds and befriends a wolf, who has been abandoned by his pack, and the two team up to fight for survival.

Rather dramatic and according to the two competing theories of how wolves and humans first hooked up probably not true.

Get ready for the SJWs. "Cast is too white, whitewashing paleolithic brown peoples, blahblahblah."

Starring a very young Don Johnson.
Both in the story and in the cast the dog was by far the smarter character.

I rather liked “Quest for Fire” but that was set 80,000 years ago. This one looks quite good. Entertaining at the least.

I would like to see the sequel, set about 18 years after his 50+ offspring are grown.

Those two theories are also just speculation. Recently they found the footprints of a young child who was carrying a burning torch in some cave in France that dated at thousands of years ago. A large wolf or wolf-like dog left its prints alongside his.
I want to see it.
