What is your favorite Loony Tunes cartoon short?

Posted on 06/12/2017 7:30:56 PM PDT by MNDude

Anyone born before 1980 has probably seen every single Looney Tunes cartoon short at least a dozen times. There are so many of them and nearly every one of them are completely enjoyable. Which Bugs Bunny Roadrunner hour cartoon is your favorite?

I always loved the episode where Sylvester and Porky Pig are staying in that scary house with those evil mice.

I always laugh my head off at the episode when those gangsters want Daffy Duck to lay a golden egg.

I can’t remember the title, and I have searched in vain for it on You Tube. Alas, it is a vivid memory of my childhood, and I am unable to find it. It ends up with Daffy totally hoarse and exhausted, desperately gasping “I’m Looking Over A Four-Leaf Clover” to keep Taz from going into his whirling dervish routine.

Daffy sings so many songs in the episode, that perhaps it was pulled for copyright violations? Who Knows.

The Duck Dodgers wall hanging. Or as it was later explained to G’Kar, the ancient Egyptian god of frustration.

This is a very old cartoon (1942) but I just love it: “Bugs Bunny Gets the Boid.” It’s about “Killer” the baby buzzard (”Beaky Buzzard), his mother (who talks like a very loud Italian mother,) and Bugs Bunny. Killer is sent by his mother to go find a “little rabbit” to eat, Killer has a hard time keeping up with his nestling brothers.

My favorite line: Bugs Bunny saying to Killer’s mother, “Keep yer shoit on, Lady, the kid’s okay!” (Killer had accidentally dived into the ground and got wedged underneath an animal carcass rib cage.)

I absolutely love this cartoon, the voices and the plot are just hilarious.

As an owner of retired racing greyhounds, I’d have to say “The Grey Hounded Hare”.

Bugs Bunny pops up in a greyhound race track. What could possibly go wrong?

Already mentioned: Hillbilly Hare "everybody promenade" I loved that one. And somebody mentioned the mad scientist one where they breathe ether and the mad scientist chases Bugs in slow motion saying "I'll get you, rabbit" also in slow motion. Side-splitting comedy right there.

Another of my faves is Transylvania 6-5000, abra cadabra, hocus pocus. Funny as heck. Another one I haven't seen mentioned is Sylvester and the Beanstalk where he climbs up the beanstalk and finds a giant Tweety Bird. Elmer Fudd is the giant and he says, " Fee fi fo fat, i tawt i taw a puddy tat" That is one of the funniest lines i have ever seen.

Almost forgot: Yosemite Sam riding the camel says “whoa camel,” but the camel doesn’t stop. He says it again and again still the camel doesn’t stop. Finally he jumps off the camel and through the magic of animation he gets in front of it and whacks it with his rifle butt. “Wheh I say whoa, I mean WHOA!”
