First Lady of the United States, Melania and her husband, Donald have ended their first international trip.
While the president has given the media so much to talk about from dancing with swords in Saudi Arabia to shoving Montenegros Prime Minister, Melania has successfully managed to be the star of the trip thanks to her fashion choices.
From Saudi Arabia to Rome, Brussels to Israel and finally Italy, Melania Trump has proven that when it comes to style, she is one to respect. Though it took a trip across the globe to get that message out there, we think the fashion world has finally come to terms with the fact that Melania is capable of nailing her chosen looks.
Here are a few lessons we learnt from Melanias wardrobe options:
1.The woman loves belts: First stop was Saudi Arabia and Melania arrived next to her husband in a black Stella McCartney jumpsuit accessorized with a gold and oversize Saint Laurent belt that perfectly cinched her waist and a gold necklace that drew attention to the key hole detail on the neckline of her jumpsuit. The gold belt was the first of many belts in the trip.
2. Manolo Blahnik is the official FLOTUS shoe designer?: Valid question to raise considering Melania paired more than half of her looks on the trip with shoes from the designer. In Brussels, she wore this beige skirt suit by Belgian designer, Maison Ullens and paired it with snakeskin Manolo Blahnik stilettos. Notice the belt?
3. We had better get used to her structured outfits: Plus the belts and Manolo Blahniks, we also learn that Melania may not be caught in flowing and flared outfits. For most of the trip, she stuck to structured pant and skirt suits. In Israel, she sported a white Michael Kors suit in a look that features everything we already mentioned.
4. Gingham just got sealed by Melania: Few posts ago, we told you that gingham is this seasons biggest trend and the First Lady may have provided the seal of approval for that. Rome was the city where Melania donned her eye-catching Dolce&Gabbana gingham dress and coat paired with matching gingham stilettos from *you guessed correctly* Manolo Blahnik. And of course, the coat came with a belt.
5. Melania studies the environment: She was highly praised for that winning arrival look in Saudi Arabia which reminded a few of the Muslim abaya and she didnt stop there. On a tour of Murabba Palace led by Saudis King Salman, Melania was seen in a floor-length Reem Acra fuschia dress with a cape-style and drape sleeves.
6. Shes the wife of the American President so luxury fashion is always a thing: We needed to be subtly reminded of this fact so for her day out in Sicily, Italy, Melania Trump chose a Dolce&Gabbana 3D embellished jacket that costs a whopping $51,500 and pairs with a matching purse.
Later that day, she switched to another Dolce & Gabbana outfit but this time, a silver shimmery dress and matching stilettos.
I've read that the women of the Middle East are already working her looks into their attire.
A ‘you’re gonna love this’ ping....a couple of pics, at link, that may be new ;-)
To First Lady Melania's List.
Our FLOTUS’s fashion has been much more extensively covered by the overseas press, how embarrassing for the snarky US publications when she obviously hit this trip out of the park, fashion-wise.
She is beautiful and makes me proud!
She is beautiful and makes me proud!
Now the rosie textured thing, I could totally do that. : - )
Please add me to Melania’s ping list.
I love and respect Melania’s style, but the flower coat is something I would hang on the wall. Not even Melania really pulled that off. She was almost overwhelmed by it. She came close, but it’s a bulky piece.
I did hand-made, handwoven art fashion in the 80’s. There was always at least one showpiece, but the parts of the line that sold only carried a flavor of the showpiece, so the idea, the detail itself, didn’t overwhelm the average woman, who is not tall, slender, yet curvy, with long legs and an unforgettable face framed by perfect hair.
Everything else she’s been photographed in was wearable. BTW, the flower tapestry coat was a D&G showpiece, as well. The rest of that particular line only carries some of the idea in detailing that doesn’t eclipse the wearer.
Is her hair on fire or is she just so smokin’ hot?
She is lovely! I guess all of this makes Melania Trump our SECOND most fashionable First Lady in recent history. /s
Remember all the ravingly positive coverage Michelle 0. used to get about her “cutting edge” (usually very ugly) fashion wardrobe?
Here we have a genuine supermodel First Lady, who really does have a cutting edge fashion sense...and it’s never mentioned in Mainstream Media.
Very sad.
reminds me of Sophia Loren...same exotic look.
Lovely Woman, dresses to impress, carries her self well, great posture, always has a pleasant look on her face, speaks multiple languages, is a doting Mother who obviously loves and respects her Husband.
The anti Moochelle.
BINGO! I knew there was something about her.
In fact, I was watching TCM last night and they had a short retrospective on Sophia Loren.
In some of the older scenes the similarity was striking.
Just the “woman” part makes her an anti-Michelle, with apologies to the late Joan Rivers.
You have a point. LOL
