Trump: Andrew Jackson Saw The Civil War Coming

President Trump made further comments about Andrew Jackson on Monday evening, saying the seventh president saw the Civil War coming.

“President Andrew Jackson, who died 16 years before the Civil War started, saw it coming and was angry. Would never have let it happen!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

The tweet comes after Trump drew widespread backlash for asking "Why was there a Civil War?" and saying Jackson would have stopped it if he had "been a little bit later." Jackson died in 1845. The Civil War began in 1861.

Trump has previously compared his own presidential campaign to that of Jackson’s, noting in March the similarity in the populist tones of their presidencies.

"It was during the revolution that Jackson first confronted and defied an arrogant elite. Does that sound familiar?" Trump told a crowd outside of Jackson’s estate in Nashville, Tenn. at the time.

Whenever Trump talks about himself having a “big heart” he’s hinting to support for amnesty for illegals.

And big-hearted Jackson is a bit of a tough sell.

Instead of talking about it, he needs to doing it...especially vetoing this budget until it has the wall, defunding PP and repealing OC in it.
IF he signs it, I suspect he’ll be finished as a strong leader. He needs to make the UniParty bastards override his veto for all the People to see who the traitors are.

There’s more than a few FReepers that would do well to follow your advice.

I’m a Lincoln fan and an FDR during WWII fan, but it takes a lot of historical courage to recognize the “failures” of presidents who America came to worship. The Civil War was a catastrophe not Lincoln’s fault but not a good thing even with ending slavery.

“He needs to make the UniParty bastards override his veto for all the People to see who the traitors are.”

You never...never veto a bill that you know will be overridden. NEVER!! The Rats and the MSM would have a field day with it...you might think it shows his strenght...the rest of the country would see it as weakness and foolishness.

A FReeper pointed out the absolute parallels of Coolidge’s battle with the same Congressional configuration DJT faces now. Coolidge overcame.

If he can blend Jacksonian smash-mouth with Coolidge finesse, he could have this solved by breakfast.

The illegale dance was a two way street, unfortunately. There was nod and wink from both parties, not just Democrats.

I understand we’re trying to tighten up our integrity now. This might involve forgiving some people who came in when the practice was much looser.

Donald has an unenviable job. No matter what he does, sizable groups of people are going to be hating on him.

Agreed that both Dems and the GOP have had pro-illegal elements: the Dems for more Democrat voters and the GOP for cheap labor to pay off their business donors.

But that is no reason for not enforcing the law. And if we have the amnesty that you apparently advocate, we will be overrun with Latin American votes pulling the country hopelessly and helplessly to the left ever after.

In other words, Jackson would have put down the rebellion in SC before the Confederacy had a chance to form?

It’s a reason to modify the law.

A Democrat president? Maybe the whole bloomin’ place would have been given over to be Confederate.

Yes it is. If the law does not do justice on the whole, it has become an ass.

Alexander Hamilton saw the civil war coming.

the gap in time between the prediction and the actual event is simply an indication of the prescience of the visionary.

The law that should be changed is stopping chain migration, the “lottery”, anchor babies, etc.

But amnesty doesn’t bring justice to anyone or anything. Just because your local police weren’t there to catch you the first 100 times you could have been ticketed for speeding on a road, doesn’t mean that they can’t ticket you when they do indeed catch you in the act.

The illegals in the US now have typically committed many felonies with identity theft even beyond the immigration laws they have broken, while soaking up all kinds of welfare support, subsidies, EITC, expensive educations for their children, etc., etc.

We will never recover those thefts, but they can at least take the scholarships they have swiped in US life to go home and improve their own countries.
