A cop in Texas shot at a car full of teenagers, killing a 15-year-old passenger while investigating a raucous house party near Dallas, police said on Sunday.
An officer with Balch Springs Police Department opened fire on a car backing down a street toward additional cops in the Dallas suburb around 11 p.m. Saturday.
At least one bullet shattered the car window and fatally struck the front seat passenger. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but did not survive.
Lee Merritt, a lawyer representing the victims family, identified the slain teen as Jordan Edwards, a straight-A freshman at Mesquite High School.

The moments leading up to the deadly shooting are unclear.
A 911 caller complained of noise at the home and police later said there was reports of underaged drinking.
While investigating the party, cops said they also heard gunfire before a vehicle began driving toward them in an aggressive manner."

This teen really is a teen. So look for the BLM activists to start in soon.
Dogs were heard barking.
And they feared for their lives...
Really straight A? Or straight A for Affirmative Action?
Who knows?
A CCW peasant would have been in the pokey before the shells cooled on this one.
“Straight A student” with bad judgement.
And lets see if he, driver, and others had alcohol. Were they really threatening officers or was officer trigger happy? Dash cam and other cameras likely will tell the story. And if they were just yelling profanities at the kids, did that drive in fear, not realizing it was the police cussing them out. What were they doing out at 11 p.m.? No family curfew? (Okay, I date myself as we had 9 p.m. school nights and 10 p.m. on weekends...). Hopefully everyone gets answers before they blow this all out of proportion.
He was just turning his life around?
Yep.
If cops roll up, you better not try and flee the scene. It’s been standard procedure for years for a cop to claim the fleeing vehicle posed a threat to their safety which prompted them to open fire.
And courts allow this.
Cope should have just gotten out of the way. Stupid.
Perhaps. Just because a lawyer says it or a reporter writes it doesn't make it so, of course. He was hanging out at a party where there was underage drinking going on and some of the party goers were of the type that would bring guns. I'm not saying this wasn't a bad shoot, but I won't be surprised if we find out there is more to this story.
The young lad posthumously won the lottery for his family. Good on him.
Oh, there is always shooting going on at night in this part of Dallas, especially on Mayday eve.
The person who wrote this article should be in jail for journalistic malpractice.
The headline is deliberately misleading.
The first sentence is deliberately misleading.
But this is the NY Daily News, a leftist rag written for people incapable of understanding sentences of more than 2 words.
Designed to cause riots in the streets.
All he needs is a white hoodie. This looks like a school picture when he was about 10. Where were his parents while he was partying with older teens?
of course at 11pm the police saw it was blacks in the car which is why they shot ? The BLM race baiters will be down shortly, they be needing some new kicks and Dallas has lotsa stores.
Straight A in a public school where the median teacher IQ is less that the average high temperature in the middle of summer. At least its degrees in Fahrenheit.
