Vanity - Why a Congressional Recess?

Posted on 04/02/2017 8:13:45 AM PDT by JLAGRAYFOX

Folks, both the Republican & Democrat establishment low life have had the "easy street" ride as the "People's Representatives, IHMHO!!! Too many long weekends, Tuesday through Thursday work weeks, and one recess after the other.

I say Monday through Friday, twelve hours per day, no recesses, only holidays and weekends (Saturday & Sunday) off. Votes in both the Senate & House should take no longer then fifteen minutes. If you cannot cast your vote within fifteen minutes...you do not belong in the people's congress. IMHO, these congress people...not only screw us all....but, they rub it our faces and take us for the total fools we are.

There is a new sheriff in town, Donald J. Trump and...he works...period!!!

The more they’re away from the swamp, the less damage they do to us.

Why in hell would we want these people in session?

There are states to go into session every couple of years. And that is too often.

Do we have so many problems we need these idiots “fixing” things full time?

Lent season. Hopefully they take the time to pray and seek God’s will.

As far as I’m concerned they work too hard as it is. What do you think they do while they’re “working”? Do you really think we need more laws to restrict our freedoms?

The less these “servants” work the better the country.

I say make them live in district year round and do their dumbass pontificating via go to meeting. They just blunderbuss their lies to cameras in D.C. anyway. Save taxpayer money having to fly their good for nothing asses back and forth. Keeping them in district we can try and keep our foot on their neck so it’s harder for them to sell out.

Monday through Friday, twelve hours per day, no recesses

********

Just the reverse would be better if imposed for district
activities with limited time in DC.

I feel your pain as they truly just use it as an excuse to hobknob and hold endless fundraisers but you do not want these guys in session full time. 99% of the time, Congress crafts legislation restricting individual liberties and bankrupting the country. They only add to the bureaucracy, they never gut it.

“Too many long weekends, Tuesday through Thursday work weeks, and one recess after the other”

And look at the damage they’ve done with only that amount of time for prissing and mincing like Victorian royals while robbing the treasury, ruling like incompetent fools and dismantling the Constitution. They need less time, not more. They need to be thrown out on thier asses, every single one of them. They are an utter disgrace.

As it is they live away from us and get astronomical perks and deals made in the cloak room on the hill. Their kids get free college tuition. They get Cadillac health plan, lunchroom, beauty shop, snack/coffee and all the wine, dine, mistress, special favors/jobs lobbyists can lavish on them then when they leave our house they get the millions per year job on K street themselves.

All that for shining a seat with their ass.

If the government bureaucracy reflected the desire of the founders, they’d be able to meet a few times a year for a few weeks at a time, get the work of The People done, then go back home to their plantations...uh, personal lives.

Look at it as an opportunity for President Trump. RECESS APPOINTMENTS!

“Recess appointments “
I’m with you. Get Gorsuch approved next week and recess appoint everyone left that DJT needs, especially at DOJ. With a full crew start draining the swamp with executive actions as much as possible.

Most importantly go hog f’n wild on DOJ prosecution of Clinton/Barry deep state corruption and felonies. If Trump wants to get this Russian BS to stop start prosecution of the worst 10 felonies of Clinton/Barry. The msm stooges will leave Russia alone to cry rivers about the unjust persecution of saints Clinton and Barry.

Ostensibly what they’re supposed to be doing is hanging out in their district listening to their constituents. And that’s how it should be. Of course that’s not what they’re doing, but making Congress spend more time in DC won’t make things better.

I have a different idea, they get paid at the GS-1 pay grade and they meet once a month for 5 consecutive days max. That will eliminate a good majority of the career clowns there. I addition, each of their offices and staff should be fully funded by the State they represent.

Because they always take a vacation at this time every year. Check their calendars. It’s only the lowly worker bees who work long hours only to get 2 weeks vacation a year.

Er, how exactly then would they have time to go home to their districts to make promises they have no plans on keeping?
