Twerking in full view of parents with young children, smoking joints and passing out drunk on the sand: Spring Break students caused chaos in Miami over the weekend and on Monday.
More than 5,000 college kids descended on the white sand of Miami Beach, Florida – causing a headache for cops charged with keeping the peace.
Many were smoking marijuana – a misdemeanor punishable with a year in jail and a $1,000 fine in Florida – and drug dealers were spotted openly plying their trade on the beach.

When I heard there was twerking, it made me think... and then I saw the photos and didn’t realize there were so many black kids in college. Or do they just show up where there are drunk white girls?
Spring break remember it well, working while friends were off partying. Guess I did not plan as well, was not financed as well by parents, or whatever.
As one of my friends has remarked over the years, wish he had been me, as I have done well.
Better decisions early on, better discipline over the years.

Since I spent my “spring breaks” working for my tuition, attending Basic Training (1985) and Airborne School (1986), I just cannot relate. Looks like a good time, but also looks like a complete waste.
Where there is an abundance of food predators will convene...............
My one spring break was Fort Lauderdale in 1968. I was a sophomore.
By today’s standards it was like a tea party(different types of tea to be sure ). we thought we were pretty wild though.

One of my kids is in college. He called last year and asked if he could borrow our van for spring break.
I told him if they are going to Florida the answer is no. If they do go, the locks are changed, the money dries up and I re-possess his car.
He and his buddies were going on a tour of air and space museums in several states. (Aerospace engineering majors)
Perfect. have fun.
This year, they all went camping in the mountains for five days. With the van.
Most people that go on spring break have never set foot on a college campus.
I never went on Spring Break because my university ran on a trimester schedule. We did not get a Spring Break (though classes wrapped-up in mid-April which gave us an early jump on the summer job market).
About ten years ago they changed to a traditional schedule with a Spring Break. Word is that the Florida Tourism Bureau wrote a whopping check to get that done.

My spring break while in college I was doing civil war reenactments and visiting battlefields I did go to dances at the reenactments and danced with the finest southern girls you ever saw.
