From Water Cannons To Cancellations: U.S. Airlines Cut Back Flights To Cuba
WLRN ^ | March 13, 2017 | Tim Padgett

Posted on 03/14/2017 5:29:58 AM PDT by C19fan

Last summer the first U.S. commercial flights to Cuba in more than half a century took off to jubilant fanfare - and landed to cheers and water cannon salutes. U.S. airlines were giddy about resuming commercial flights to the communist island.

Maybe too giddy.

On Monday, the Fort Lauderdale-based Silver Airways said it will drop its 22 weekly flights to Cuba next month. Frontier Airlines said it will cease its Miami-to-Havana service in June. Both companies cited weak demand and excess capacity.

Wet foot dry foot policy being revoked hurt the return flights...

I’m sort of shocked all the Hollywood communists aren’t taken weekly trips to paradise....

I've seen China...”Commie Central”.I don't need to see a sad imitation of what Marx,Lenin,Stalin and Mao dreamed of.Wild horses could get me to go there.

It is not an over-capacity problem if you cancel the entire route ...

My in-laws LOVE to go to places like that! They have a lot of money and they are always going off to third world hell-holes. They’ve been to quite a few unhappy places in Asia, Africa and South America. They’ll be going to Cuba in a few weeks. They love to see poor, backwards people!

They say it’s like a time machine to see how the world lived a long time ago. I tell them that it’s more like seeing how the world lives under Socialism today. They don’t like that — they are CT Liberals.

One of the down sides of not having a draft anymore is that young Americans don't get to see these hell holes.
While I was never ungrateful for what I had, one tour of VN sure made me appreciate America that much more.

So the “Workers Paradise” isn’t quite a vacationers dream.
Who knew?

EVERY lobotomized liberal leftist needs one forced trip to such a paradise so they can see up close what they’re voting for.

Of course they believe that THEY would be able to do socialism “right” when no one else on earth has been able to.
Brain dead parasites.

We have a friend that went with a group. As I was looking at her pictures and her commentary about how she had wanted to get there before “McDonald’s” got there, I was suddenly repulsed. A government which imprisons those that disagree with the government and treats certainly groups terribly and all they were concerned about was their tour experience. It made me look at myself pretty closely too; no more need to go anywhere that treats its citizens in a way that I would not want our citizens treated.

It like you said, Clearcase: they almost see it as a zoo exhibit, as if the suffering of others was put there purely for their entertainment value.

When my dad was in Germany during WWII; he saw firsthand
the absolute hell that dictators rained down on the heads
of their own people. Hell & Destruction beyond human
comprehension. THEN, the mad dictators commit suicide in
their squalid bunkers while leaving their “subjects” to
either starve or be fed by the very people they attacked
and occupied.

When I went to Germany 20 yrs. later, my dad sort of was
displeased with me as he thought there was no way that
Germany could be repaired after that. He hated for me to
see the devastation; but it was mostly repaired except for
the occasional bullet hole or other artillery in a
building here or there.

Exactly right. My in-laws also said that they want to get to Cuba “before McDonald’s gets there” and they do talk about these places like going to a zoo.

Liberalism is a mental disease. Liberals hate people. And I think a lot of Liberals know that about themselves, feel bad about it, and end up hating themselves because of it. So, they hate everyone else and they hate themselves, and they turn all this hatred against their opponents. They are just unpleasant people all around.

Vietnam isn’t the same country now I promise. The american government fucked you in the 60’s if you went there. I just went to Hanoi. The people are pleasant and honest. Very poor but no concern for safety. Got to see where John McCain spent his time in the prison. Very interesting.

LOL ... when a military buddy of mine heard that there were riots, fires and chaos in Newark, he said it could only improve the place.

yeah my first thought was the return flights are probably pretty empty of anyone besides those going from the US and returning. Unlikely a lot of Cuban passengers unless diplomats, etc

Oh, I'm well aware. My son taught in Shanghai for 3 years and traveled extensively throughout Asia. He said Vietnam was the most beautiful, had the nicest people and the best food.
I was up on the DMZ and had no contact with civilians or their food. But I can say the country was pretty, albeit scarred by war, had great sunsets and the night sky was phenomenal.
