The Last Man on Earth is a show I loved. For those who don't know, it's set a few years in the future after a virus wiped out most of the people of earth. Looking at Wikipedia, it appears the virus hit in 2019.
So, last night, they had a flashback episode to the start of the virus. The first sign of trouble is when Kristen Wiig had Alexa read the headlines and one of them involved President Pence. Leftist fantasy #1: Donald Trump didn't serve out his full first term.
Then, it gets really disturbing. Images of a motorcade on a news broadcast, with the newsman saying, "We're watching the funeral procession of our 46th president, Michael Richard Pence." Then, in rapid order, they show funerals for Presidents Ryan, Tillerson, Mnuchin and finally Betsy DeVos. Really sick stuff.
"It's only a TV show, dealing with the end of the world! Of course those people would die!" If Hillary was president right now, do you really think they'd be showing the death of her cabinet?
A milder—and actually funny—Trump slam was on the new Judd Hirsch show called Superior Donuts. The neighboring shop owner is the series villain, a Muslim trying to buy up the neighborhood. He says, “If Americans didn’t like a ruthless businessman, we’d have a different president right now!” To which someone responds, “I’m gonna miss you when America’s great again!” LOL.
Wishful feeeeeeeeling from mud people.
What do you expect from a show called the last man on earth that had three people in it by the end of the first episode and has about eight now.
Thanks for the heads up. I almost starting watching this series on “Hulu” last night. Now I know to skip it entirely.
I don’t see how any self-respecting American can really watch anything on TV or at the movies these days for “entertainment.” Even the best stuff is not worth the time. Stop giving them your money. Do something productive.
Well, at least all the leftard politicians would theoretically be dead from the mega-plague, too.
And where the whole storyline seems to depend on the main character being completely unsympathetic. Someone who lies and manipulates people as a matter of course. I watched the first few episodes thinking it might be fun and was just turned off. The virus should have gone ahead and wiped out everybody. It's a terrible show.
The left can’t tell the difference between fact and fiction. They live in a world that has no relationship to reality.
>>And where the whole storyline seems to depend on the main character being completely unsympathetic.
He’s a straight white man who isn’t pretty like a woman. Hollywood rules say that he has to be unsympathetic.
One piece is missing here.
Her character insinuated that the Government had a Vaccine for the Plague and that the D.C. Politicians would be spared while the rest of us would be long gone.
After that, they had the montage of Funerals. Not saying why they didn’t have a Trump Funeral, but I think it had more to do with not mentioning the current POTUS to avoid the obvious blowback.
I actually laughed when they had the DeVos Funeral while going down the string of Cabinet replacements. The Department of Education Cabinet position should have been History by the time the Plague hit.
I also thought it was funny that there was no Ben Carson Funeral. They know their limits leaving out the Black guy.
I know it was a mild slam, but Kudos to the script writers for Superior Donuts - that line (and the comeback) was worth a chuckle.
I know this is wrong, but I would like to see a number of funerals in Hollywood.
Is it produced by Loren Michaels
I tried watching the first couple of episodes of that show and simply couldn’t get there. To me, it sucked from the very beginning.
I watched part of the first season. Weird show.
Where are all the bodies? Billions of people die from a plague, and they are all gone without a trace.
For such a tolerant lot, these leftists sure do fantasize about dead conservatives a lot.
I laughed to...it was so over the top, and the idea that all the cabinet members would be president for a few days was funny.

Actually I think they would. Part of staying current. A show like that will use a “sliding” back story to have the end happen nowish. It’s just cheaper and easier than having to keep all the vehicles and buildings from before. And it lets you work with current topics in the humor.
