MORENO VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A dirt bike flies over the 60 Freeway in Riverside County. It’s a mind-boggling stunt that would make anyone do a double take.

Before launching over the freeway, the rider can be seen accelerating up a dirt path carved from a hillside and then liftoff.

There’s plenty of traffic below. The stunning video shot from the air and ground was posted on Kyle Katsandris’ Instagram account, along with a YouTube channel, which features several other clips of Katsandris doing stunts and tricks on his bike.

There's a video at the url with the story, which apparently was made by the guy who actually jumped.

Not sure I am commending this, since it might be completely illegal, but it sure makes a good video.

I know this guy personally, old dead cop friend of mine from a bygone time, when things were simpler. Used to stuff a cucumber down his pants to impress the women like Derek Smalls and Chris Squire. Anyway - heartening to see his ghost still patrols those hills.

I agree it was awesome. It was also stupid. The freeway was wide open with traffic flowing in both directions. He could have missed his launch or his landing, or someone on the freeway below could have panicked and caused a wreck. Should he be punished? No. But he was an idiot.

Crazy stunt, but lucky for him, not a wide freeway at that point, as SoCal freeways go.

Cool video. Fake? Possibly. I drove through the area recently and acknowledge that young people are completely bored in the suburbs. In and Out burger brings joy 2x a week but other times young people take risks. They should rock climb and snow board. Jumping like Evel Knievel is asking for trouble. Let’s see what other jumps the rider made.

Dumb stunt and I hope he gets punished. if this clown had missed his jump and come down in the middle of the freeway, he could have cost more lives than his own.
