The New York Times reporter who called Melania Trump a “hooker” at a private event on Sunday has apologized, saying he wants to “take ownership of a mistake” he made.
Jacob Bernstein, the son of Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein and the late writer-director Nora Ephron, came forward on Tuesday to identify himself as the journalist who repeated what he called “unfounded rumors” about the first lady in a conversation with model-actress Emily Ratajkowski.
“Speaking at a party in what I thought was a personal conversation, I nevertheless made a stupid remark about the first lady,” he wrote in a series of tweets. “My editors have made it clear my behavior was not in keeping with the standards of the Times, and I agree.”

The offending “reporter” was Carl Bernstein’s son, Jabob.

As long as he calls it a “mistake”, he’s not really apologizing. Can anyone possibly believe he’s being honest? The NYT is full of hard leftist loons who don’t even know how to behave civilized.
He calls Michelle Obama or Hellary such a term and he would be sacked and blacklisted by every media organisation in the country.

Well, in the disturbed minds of NYT executives their employee apologized for his slander and the matter is settled — no further action is warranted. (No doubt the NYT executives would have reacted the same way if, say, one of their employees had repeated an “unfounded rumor” that a former first lady is a “ghetto queen”) — /sarc of course!)
Oops. His apology won’t relieve him of any legal liability, and in fact, it is basically an admission of guilt.
It was just a “mistake”. Little Jacob meant to say HE was a “hooker”, not Melania.
Tell it to her lawyer.

I doubt there’s any liability in a private conversation. Nor should there be.
Well, Melania Trump is beautiful and classy and Jacob Bernstein is plug ugly and a pig. And when they individually wake up tomorrow morning, she will still be beautiful and classy and he will forever be plug ugly and a pig.

That's right. The standard of the NYT's is to merely IMPLY the First Lady is a hooker, run lots of hearsay and unattributed quotes, etc...

Granted the reporter was talking about the first lady. But also about a personal perception of women in general.
