This is the highest quality footage I have ever seen of the Mark VIII. A must see for those of us who love tanks.

That’s pretty amazing considering video tape recordings weren’t invented till almost 40 years later.

“Very cool! That guy running in front of it must be half crazy though!”

He is one of the few people in the film whose name is known to history.

His name was Ray Schell Corrie.

I like all the politicians standing around, playing pocket pool. Some things never change!

Trying to figure out why they need a bench vise in the driver’s compartment. Anyone know?

There’s a good BBC series, “Our World War”. Although episode 3 deals with a crew the Mk V, (and how they broke the battle of Somme), it presents a good, up close look into the day to day operation of these land ships.

I watched it and I thought it was pretty good. Those tankers did not have an easy job.

I had no idea they were such toxic fume traps. Kudos to the guy who figured out that maybe you could reposition the exhaust pipe away from the air vents.

I liked the guard with the rifle and the white spats pacing that beast through the field.

Interesting.

No road wheels or support rollers.

I wonder if they had a lot of problems throwing track?

I wonder what might have made a guy who spent his time running in front of moving tanks the idea to open a pancake house?
