I’ve been using one-liners from that scene at work.

Hysterical. Foster Brooks was great. There’s another with Martin where he’s a dentist.

I don’t know what made me laugh more, Foster Brooks or watching Dean Martin’s reaction. Very funny.

Thanks for posting! :^D

It’s really sad when the best thing on television are infomercials featuring Dean Martin, Carol Burnette, Red Skelton, etc.....

I thought I was the only person left in the world who remembered Hudson and Landry. Those were some hilarious routines. I think some material may still be available online.

Dean Martin’s daughter was on Fox and Friends a couple weeks ago and she said that the image of her father as being a heavy drinker was all just a show on his part and that he very seldom drank.......

I believe he created that illusion for his comedy routine - great talent. Smoking caused his health problems.

Here’s the genius of Foster Brooks: Every other comedian who did a “drunk act” overplayed it. They would stagger wildly, really slur their words, and then start singing “Sweet Adeline.” Foster Brooks did the opposite. He played a guy who was obviously drunk, but was trying very hard to hold it together. He would walk across the stage taking slow, measured steps trying not to stagger. When he spoke, there was some slurring of his words, but when he reached a word that was difficult to pronounce, he would try a couple of times, then use a different word in its place.
