How can you re-do All in the Family - the snowflakes will riot if the new Archie says, “Coon” or “Hebe” or “Chink,” etc., etc., etc. The whole show would have to be bleeped out.
Here’s my advice: don’t mess with the original. Many have tried it across many industries, and it fails miserably about 95% of the time, and simultaneously diminishes the reputation of the original. Prime example: the Pontiac GTO - the 1974 was a warmed-over Pontiac Ventura (i.e. a Chevy Nova) with an anemic engine, and the 2000s version was not even American. Better for Pontiac to have let the nameplate die.
The Jeffersons is on one of the retro-TV channels now. I’ve watched some of the episodes and it reminded me that I always used to like to watch it as a kid. One a couple of them, they made George out to be a Republican or supporting the Republicans. Of course, he was doing it to advance his business but he nevertheless was a Republican. It was a different age.
Next: Gilligan’s Island, but they’re marooned on an asteroid.

All in the Family? If they actually put a show with a conservative mouthpiece mocking the looney left snowflakes on TV this Fall, Trump would be getting the biggest win in modern media... because there is no way there would ever even think of letting that happen if Hillary had won.
I can picture this easily: Archie would be a Trump supporter and would have each and every stereotype that the Clintonistas have applied to him, to the tea party, and to conservatives in general.
Edith will be his brain-dead wife who has no will of her own and does whatever Archie says.
Gloria would be the brains of the family.
But the Meathead would end up being Gloria’s butch “wife” — smarter than all of them put together and the source of constant zingers that will make the Trump Supporting Archie look like an utter idiot constantly.
The formula is already there from the 70s version...just needs to be updated with modern leftist biases.
Of course! Writers today can’t devise new ideas - they are only taught victimology, in the arts today. You can’t know true humor without the classics - Pope, Swift, etc. But you can’t teach classics.
More important, great humor OFFENDS some people. They are taught to avoid that at all costs, and the result is complete loss of creativity.

They got Donnie Osmond for the reboot of “Wonderama”. It could work. Lear’s shows VERY doubtful. VERY VERY doubtful.
