In today’s politically correct/snowflake society, I don’t see how these can be re-done.
Of course.
Very effective Anti-American propaganda.
Maude??????????? spare us please. then i don’t watch tv anymore main reason tv sucks.
What an unbelievably stupid idea.
Archie Bunker’s prophetic words to Meathead:
You’re gettin’ Ronald Reagan in 80!.................
Of course, in the remake, Archie and Mike are gay. The Jefferson’s have a white male maid, who is gay.
I think it would work well if JJ on Good Times way maybe...gay.
Dynomite.
I won’t be watching. I will support nothing that tarnishes those great old classic sitcoms I watched as a kid growing up.
Not as much propaganda as the left wanted. A lot of themes sort of backfired on the left.
The Jefferson’s was really funnier though
You forgot to mention that Maude would be Transgender.
I suggest they combine them into one show and call it Once Was Enough.
How can you re-do All in the Family - the snowflakes will riot if the new Archie says, “Coon” or “Hebe” or “Chink,” etc., etc., etc. The whole show would have to be bleeped out.
Here’s my advice: don’t mess with the original. Many have tried it across many industries, and it fails miserably about 95% of the time, and simultaneously diminishes the reputation of the original. Prime example: the Pontiac GTO - the 1974 was a warmed-over Pontiac Ventura (i.e. a Chevy Nova) with an anemic engine, and the 2000s version was not even American. Better for Pontiac to have let the nameplate die.
Archie(to obviously gay TV commercial producer): Are you gay?
Gay TV producer: Are you?
Archie: No.
Gay TV Producer: I’m soooo relieved...................

Easy. Just make Archie politically correct, too!
Oh, wait...then it would even more pointless exercize than the idea of a “reboot” already is.
The Jeffersons is on one of the retro-TV channels now. I’ve watched some of the episodes and it reminded me that I always used to like to watch it as a kid. One a couple of them, they made George out to be a Republican or supporting the Republicans. Of course, he was doing it to advance his business but he nevertheless was a Republican. It was a different age.
Norman Lear actually walked a very fine line with the Archie Bunker character.
Archie might have been a right wing bigot, but the many times he was right; the many ways in which his world views were correct were very spot on.
Maude on the other hand came across as a bitter old liberal shrew. Which is in perfect harmony with all older liberal womyn.
Only if it attacks Christians or conservatives.... then it will be redone.
Next: Gilligan’s Island, but they’re marooned on an asteroid.
You sure she wasn't the first time around?
