He’s selling his new book, which will be obsolete come tomorrow night.
[toe-tastic]
Toemorrow is going to be toetastic.
Dick....sucks.
Not true. There is a contingent election for VP as prescribed by the 12th Amendment. The scenario which you described pertained to the election of 1800, Jefferson/Burr. The election of 1824 was settled under the 12th Amendment with separate electors for President and VP.
Dems are desperate in Penna - three straight Hillary/anti-Trump ads on the Philly local evening TV news - looking pretty good here.....
He thinks that it’s going to be toe-to-toe.
Is there something to be taken from the number of people tuning into these rallies via youtube livestreams. Current one in NH has 43,000 tuned in, and thats pretty typical
Yeah the House elects the president, by state delegation. Trump wins 26 states. I mean, California gets one vote, North Dakota gets one vote. Then the Senate votes for Vice President. More RINOS. They do not HAVE to vote for the vice presidential nominees, they could vote for Tom Brady if they want. They feel that being tied, the fair and bi-partisan thing to do would be vote for Hillary Clinton for Vice President. Eminently plausible.
how did they ever give DC 3 EVs, allowing a tie?
UT could also throw it into House.
Not even a remote chance. McMullin nosedived in the polls a week ago. Trump will carry Utah with ease
If it is 269-269, there will be enormous pressure on electors to “nominate” a third candidate: Biden, in the case of Democrat electors, Romney or Jeb Bush or Ryan in the case of Republicans.
Remember, the elector-candidates are chosen for their sheep-like characteristics and their loyalty to the State party machine. Very few, if any, Republican elector-candidates are Trump loyalists.
And, if this happens, it will get very complicated, and fast. The House must choose from the top three electoral vote getters. Trump and Hillary will be #1 and #2. But the defectors can keep their votes secret until January 6.
Suppose Wednesday morning the graphic on Fox is 269-269. There will be some talk about switching, or defecting. When the votes are opened by President of the Senate Biden on January 6, suppose he only finds 259 for Trump and ten for Romney. Then, he finds 257 for Hillary. There are twelve votes missing. If they all go to Biden, it will be a Trump-Clinton-Biden race. If the votes are Biden 9, Sanders 2, Stein 1, then it will be Trump-Clinton-Romney.
The permutations are endless.
Oh, dear Lord. I am going to have to make another trip to the liquor store...
The only thing Dick gets wrong in that analysis is CO: “Trump is likely to carry the large unaffiliated vote by a good margin”.
I looked earlier today and the unaffiliated vote in CO is mostly single white males who don’t believe in religion but do believe in meditation.
Hopefully Trump wins CO, but it will be very close.
If no candidate for President has a majority of the total votes, the House of Representatives, voting by states and with the same quorum requirements as under the original procedure, chooses the President. The Twelfth Amendment requires the House to choose from the three highest receivers of electoral votes, compared to five under the original procedure.
If no candidate for Vice President has a majority of the total votes, the Senate, with each Senator having one vote, chooses the Vice President. The Twelfth Amendment requires the Senate to choose between the candidates with the "two highest numbers" of electoral votes. If multiple individuals are tied for second place, the Senate may consider all of them, in addition to the individual with the greatest number of votes. The Twelfth Amendment introduced a quorum requirement of two-thirds of the whole number of Senators for the conduct of balloting. Furthermore, the Twelfth Amendment requires the Senate to choose a Vice President by way of the affirmative votes of "a majority of the whole number" of Senators.
I defer to you, and I stand corrected. Thanks for exposing my ignorance. (;^)
Don’t know about YouTube, but the Hillary contingent has arrived at Philly - Bill looks very sad - Obama talking and you could hear a pin drop - no cheering, no excitement (C-Span) - Trump talking on Fox Business - the crowd cheering his every thought as usual - for sure the enthusiasm is with him......
Good, when he is proven wrong we can move on from Dick Morris.
“Didnt he say just yesterday that Trump was going to win easily?”
Yes he did . This article is a month old.
A tie isn’t going to happen. What nonsense.
