It is becoming increasingly possible for there to be a tie in the Electoral College with each candidate winning 269 electoral votes. In that case, Trump would win since, in the House, the Republican Party controls 33 state delegations and each state has one vote regardless of how many Congressmen it has.
Heres how it could happen:
Start with Trump winning all of the states Romney won, including North Carolina which now appears likely. Thats 206 votes.
Then, add in Trump wins in Ohio and Iowa where he is and has been ahead. Thats 230.
Then, add Florida where Trump is now tied, having come back in recent days. Early voting tells the story. Romney lost the early voting by 161,000 votes and then gained among Election Day voters but only enough to lose the state by 74,000. Trump is now only 32,500 behind in early voting, so, if he gets the same Election Day bounce, hed win by 60,000 votes. Thats 259.
And in Colorado, entirely a vote by mail state, 7,000 more Republicans than Democrats have voted so far and Trump is likely to carry the large unaffiliated vote by a good margin. Thats 268.
For the one remaining vote Trump needs to tie, Maine has changed its system so the statewide winner only gets two electoral votes and the remaining two are determined by how each Congressional District votes. One of the districts is solidly Democrat and the other is Republican. Thats 269 and a tie.
Beyond 269? Thats iffy. Trump needs to pull an upset in New Hampshire (4), Nevada (6), Pennsylvania (20) or Michigan (16).

NC, FL to Trump based on early voting OH, IA to Trump based on polls CO based on early voting & polls (this is probably the key) Maine-2, likely Trump I think.
Didn’t he say just yesterday that Trump was going to win easily?
Well, now we know it won’t be a tie.
Sorry, Dick. Not buying what you’re selling. I wish he’d just predict a Hillary victory, and we might stand a chance.
Screw Dick Morris and his click bait. This is the asshat that helped give us the corrupt Clintons.
I can’t speak for the entire state of Pennsylvania, but when I went to Pittsburgh over the weekend, the place was literally flooded with Trump/Pence signs. I don’t think I saw a single Dem advertisement except for an older man wearing a Hillary hat.
I keep hearing good things about Michigan and New Hampshire. I’m not so sure about Nevada since that’s Harry Reid’s territory, but I think at least one of those other two states will flip.
This article has a typo. Dick didn’t say it would be a tie, he said it would be a toe.
And let’s leave it at that.
I want to hear Megyn Kelly say “President-elect Trump”.
Playing with interactive, I see 269-269 as quite plausible. If this is the case, Trump will be president. And Hillary would be vice-president (you heard it here first).
Didn’t this asswipe predict a Trump landslide yesterday?
His prediction was way off in 2012 but many people’s predictions were wrong that year.
Trump will win comfortably.
If its really D +7, it may come down to the wire.
If D turnout in fact is down compared to 2012, an Electoral College deadlock isn’t in the realm of possibility.
Trump will overperform relative to the polls.
Well, now we know it wont be a tie.
He has no idea so he sits on the fence.
I do not believe it will be a tie tomorrow, either Trump or Hillary wins decisively. I pray it will be Trump.
I predict Morris is wrong as usual.
The Cankles Express is pulling out all stops in Michigan, as if they’re Bo Schembechler getting ready to face Woody Hayes or something.
Also, something’s going on in New Mexico, which would be a very welcomed upset.
Given his record, I rather he say it’s going to be a tie than an outright Trump victory.
The Washington state delegate who won’t vote for Hillary pretty much guarantees it won’t be a tie.
That Sanders supporter in Washington State WILL NOT vote for Clinton, so they either kill her, or put up with 269-268-1, Trump (unless we have a similar sleeper cell against Trump).
So he needs only one of the states. What tome does the polls close on them?
At this point, I’ll take it. Even a Dick Morris tie prediction is better than the non-stop negativity coming at us from all directions.
