Question:When do the East Coast Returns Come In?
11/06/2016 | nikos1121

Posted on 11/06/2016 9:36:48 AM PST by nikos1121

When the polls close in New York, NC, PA, FL, NH etc, ie the East Coast, will the networks be able to start posting results, or must we wait until they close on the West Coast?

Does anyone know for sure?

Every other year they've announced each state as it closed (or even part of the state closed like Florida in 2000).

They’ll start with their fake exit interview polls and lie from there.

Maryland polls close at 8 pm. When you see Trump carrying Maryland, you know he has a 38 or 40 state win... enough for 300 electoral votes. Also check out NY or NJ or Mass... if he turns one of those, it is a Trumpalanche.

Polls close at 7:30 in NC. If you’re in line by then you can vote.

If they are certain Hillary has won a state they will announce it immediately after the polls close.

If they are certain Trump has won a state they will wait as long as possible to see who can be the last news service to call it.

If they are uncertain they will babble endlessly about how Hillary probably won the state but they won’t call it.

Any questions?

The Results are already in, the Networks are just waiting for the actual election to take place before they tell us who won.

The networks post what they want, when they want. They usually work from "official returns" which come in precinct by precinct after the polls close in those precincts. Closing time varies by state, and if turnout is strong, will be delayed to accomodate at least people in line, and more than that with a court order.

At any rate, results are posted and states are called before the polls close in Central, Mountain, and Pacific time zones.

Or they'll call it for Crooked and then mea culpa later. There is no penalty for getting it wrong.

Usually they don’t formally check the wrong box.

That has happened in maybe one network and one state per election cycle at most.

My suggestion for election night—mute the sound and listen to your favorite music.

Will they do exit polls this year? Recall last cycle, they dropped them about 2-3 weeks out, which, in my opinion, covered up election fraud as they would have trouble with Romney winning via exit polls, then trounced by rigged votes. With electronic voting, no recourse in any case. Hope something better this time around but I’ll be surprised if they restart exit polls as it is not in media’s best interest considering their collusion with Clinton’s campaign.

True that. But this is no usual election, and the press will do everything it can to manipulate the results in Crooked's favor.

Go to the movies, dinner, stay away from the news until Wednesday ;-) High tension until 10 pm, no matter what.

The MSM has already called the race, no sense even voting now, unless you’re a dim.

I don’t remember if it was 2000 or 2004. Bush won Georgia by about 15 points but the networks took all night to give Bush the state.

Poll closing times and vote reporting times are two different things.

How many times have we seen big democrat counties delaying
reporting their vote totals?

Many of us believe that those counties are drumming up additional votes
they think they might need before reporting.
