I realize that the show has always been violent with lots of gore but it just seems lately they are taking it to another level.

It sounds crazy but I am betting it is Rick. Why?
#1. He was the last person shown when Negan was doing his “eeni meeni miny moe” and when he says “..and you are IT” they show Rick
and...
#2. It makes perfect sense why Negan would kill Rick because WHY would Negan want to deal with another leader? To get a gang to submit, you kill the leader.
I think a lot of them dropped out during the civil war here between the Cruzlings and Trumpinistas.
