Prentiss High School put on lockdown after clown threat

EFFERSON DAVIS COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Prentiss High School was put on lockdown Monday afternoon after a clown called making threats to students.

According to Sheriff Ron Strickland with The Jefferson Davis Sheriff's Department, a person called from a private number identifying as a clown. Strickland said the clown threatened to do inappropriate things to the kids at the school.

Strickland said the school has been searched and secured and that the lockdown will be lifted soon.

Strickland said the sheriff's department is working now to trace the phone number to the caller.
