I suspect it would be a lot harder to bamboozle Putin, who is a former KGB agent and a competent leader, than it is to fool the Press and the American Left, who are so wrapped around the axle on their perception of the Right and conservatives in particular that anything that deviates from their preconceived notions is dumbfounding to them, and beyond their ability to anticipate.

Top CNN employees are frustrated. They breathlessly went live to Donald Trump’s news conference at his new hotel in Washington D.C., only to wait helplessly as veterans stood up to explain why they support Trump as commander-in-chief.
“It’s hard to imagine this as anything other than a political rick-roll,” anchor Jake Tapper said wryly as CNN cut away from the broadcast of the Trump event and asked him to comment.
The Trump campaign signaled that the Republican presidential nominee would address the birther controversy, but the first 20 minutes of the event featured veterans telling the media why they supported Trump.
How do we know it’s Hillary .. and not a member of her staff ..??????
I think Putin’s much smarter than the Clinton News Network collective—and all the other MSM combined. If anything, I think Putin sees a much worthy adversary in Trump, and both may work out something that benefits both Russia and America.
