Yep. It requires two hours a day of walking (above and beyond the normal stuff). Having a dog to walk when you get home helps too but I always get in an hour at lunch. When it rains, I do loops around Grand Central or go to Macy’s and walk the perimeter of all ten floors.
The answer is NO. But looking at the process from start to finish. Both are steel cut but the rolled or flattened oats go thru an additional process to flatten them. Some say it loses some oils when this happens but nutritionally them are close to exact.
A guy in this story about hiking the Appalachian Trail ate a high-fat, junk food diet and still lost 40 pounds during the hike. Lots of walking does burn the calories.

I like the “Commercial cleaning” idea. You skip having to suffer thru the commercials, exercise, and accomplish a task. Win, win, win.

I imagine a hilly terrain adds to the calorie burning power.

That’ll do it, alright.
At 300 lbs, he’s still too fat.
I put it in a covered bowl and pour milk over it and let it sit in the fridge overnight. But that’s just me, some may use water.
I named my dog “Five Miles” so I could tell everyone I walked five miles a day.
At 605 lb, he could not fit onto the exercise equipment. He looks great. This guy deserves credit!
now he has an obsession walking to walmart anytime he gets hungry.
