Here are the GOP governors. Donald Trump has stated that he wants someone who knows government, and could step in if need be. Can we give some observations of our own governor to help us determine if that person might make a good VP pick?
Alabama Robert Bentley
Alaska Bill Walker
Arizona Doug Ducey
Arkansas Asa Hutchinson
Florida Rick Scott
Georgia Nathan Deal
Guam Eddie Calvo
Idaho C.L. Butch Otter
Illinois Bruce Rauner
Indiana Mike Pence
Iowa Terry Branstad
Kansas Sam Brownback
Kentucky Matt Bevin
Maine Paul LePage
Maryland Larry Hogan
Massachusetts Charlie Baker
Michigan Rick Snyder
Mississippi Phil Bryant
Nebraska Pete Ricketts
Nevada Brian Sandoval
New Jersey Chris Christie
New Mexico Susana Martinez
North Carolina Pat McCrory
North Dakota Jack Dalrymple
Ohio John Kasich
Oklahoma Mary Fallin
South Carolina Nikki R. Haley
South Dakota Dennis Daugaard
Tennessee Bill Haslam
Texas Greg Abbott
Utah Gary R. Herbert
Wisconsin Scott Walker
Wyoming Matthew Mead
He is completely in favor of the entire LGBT platform because he has a gay brother, and he is entirely in favor of the "assault" weapons ban. There are other issues, but these two come immediately to mind.
Agreed,
For VP? No.
NO NO NO.....NO GOV. SCOTT.
Big sugar barons in Florida fund both the democrats and rinos...from the Bushes to the Clintons, Gov. Scott and Rubio....thanks to Lake O releases, we have polluted waterways, estuaries, closed beaches....it’s a corrupted system with Pepe and Alfy Fanjul, the sugar brothers, who continue lining the pockets of every politician from town commissioners to presidents. Cane being grown on 180 million acres....water from Okeechobee diverted east and west. Our elected officials claim they can’t do anything. Check out Stuart, Florida...recently named one of the top ten happiest beach towns in the nation. No longer. Green and blue toxic scum everywhere!
Gov of Georgia.What a disappointment.
Bryant is in the Barbour machine
Our California Gov. Jerry Brown would make a great VP pick — for the Communist Party. But I think “Commissar” would be the proper title for him. Sorry, no help here from the Far Left Coast.
You really have to be pulling our leg.
My governor, Gary Herbert, isn’t a potential governor. Gawd, Utahns are stoopid.
My fine Governor, Pence.... No. He has no political instinct. He screwed the pooch here in Indiana. No real issues with his positions, but he is politically clumsy. Even oafish. He would be a drag on the ticket.
McCrory is telegenic and articulate. He stepped right up and spearheaded the effort to overturn Charlotte’s bathroom bill. Pro-business, pro-life.
Trump could do a lot worse than McCrory. But Trump will win NC regardless, so I’m not sure McCrory helps win the election.
Winning the election is Priority 1, 2, and 3.
Trump can get advice from dozens of others besides the VP.
Concur 100%.
He stabbed the people in the back on two important issues:
1) campus carry
2) support of lgbt "rights" over religious freedom
There’s only 3 that would fit:
Gov. Paul LePage - ME
Gov. Pat McCrory - NC
Gov. Greg Abbott - TX
The rest are RINOs, damaged, or mediocre (or all 3).
McCrory is the only one on the list of GOP govs. But Trump screwed that up with his bathroom comments. They have not matched anyway with some conflicting social stances. It may have been a bullet dodged
McCrory is probably one of the few smarter & wittier than Trump compared to airheads like Nikki Haley & Scott Walker.
Bentley from Alabama is a dweeb. Big scandal with adultery. Our great Senator Sessions however would be a great VP.
Florida
I like Rick Scott but he is NOT photogenic and would not be an asset on the campaign trail as a candidate.
He is a strong business man. And while not perfect (he didn’t do anything about the illegals working in the state) he is a good guy.
Mike Pence is the only one I expect to be cnsidered now. Scott Walker and John Kasich need to endorse Trump against Clinton.
Add Oklahoma governor Mary Fallin to your NO list. RINO. Not the worst, but wouldn’t be someone I’d want in line to the presidency.
Utah....don’t make me laugh...The Church won’t let him out of their site...ROFL....
