Here are the GOP governors. Donald Trump has stated that he wants someone who knows government, and could step in if need be. Can we give some observations of our own governor to help us determine if that person might make a good VP pick?

Alabama Robert Bentley

Alaska Bill Walker

Arizona Doug Ducey

Arkansas Asa Hutchinson

Florida Rick Scott

Georgia Nathan Deal

Guam Eddie Calvo

Idaho C.L. “Butch” Otter

Illinois Bruce Rauner

Indiana Mike Pence

Iowa Terry Branstad

Kansas Sam Brownback

Kentucky Matt Bevin

Maine Paul LePage

Maryland Larry Hogan

Massachusetts Charlie Baker

Michigan Rick Snyder

Mississippi Phil Bryant

Nebraska Pete Ricketts

Nevada Brian Sandoval

New Jersey Chris Christie

New Mexico Susana Martinez

North Carolina Pat McCrory

North Dakota Jack Dalrymple

Ohio John Kasich

Oklahoma Mary Fallin

South Carolina Nikki R. Haley

South Dakota Dennis Daugaard

Tennessee Bill Haslam

Texas Greg Abbott

Utah Gary R. Herbert

Wisconsin Scott Walker

Wyoming Matthew Mead

I'll start - mine's Ige in Hawaii, who reminds me of a sedated Andy Clyde. But he's out anyhow because he is in the wrong party. How about you folks with GOP governors. Any of them worth a look?

Alaska - Walker - supposedly a lifelong pubbie.

Jumped ship to hook up with a Dem & Native activist for the $$$$.

Right now he is doing his damnest to bankrupt the state.

So, Gov Walker - **oh hell NO**.

I’d go with Dan Patrick rather than Abbott. Patrick would bring the Christian right, and he is more of a firebrand.

And a big NO to Gov. “Let’s Make a” Deal, “Bad” Deal, “Shady” Deal, or just plain “Dirty” Deal.

LePage isn’t my state’s governor, but I sure like his style.

Chris Christie. He has a lot of baggage. However, He brings Italian and Irish Catholics to Trump’s ticket. He could bring Pa., Ohio, to the ticket. He has a Rust Belt/Northeastern vibe.

Bevin or Abbot, with few exceptions, all the others are a bunch of Rinos. Unfortunately or not, none of them will be picked.

It won’t be Michigan governor Rick Snyder. In fact almost everyone on your list can be ruled out

Disqualify anyone who can win a Senate seat in 2018. That leaves Brownback-D.C. experience.

This has been my fear. And if not from this pool, where? It’s a risk to take a good Congressman out of office. And which military leader would have this kind of government experience?
